Pharmacological properties
The action of the drug is due to the combined pharmacological properties of its active substances, which provide a wide range of antiparasitic action against cestodes and nematodes.
Niclosamide is a synthetic derivative of salicylic acid, active against intestinal cestodes. Disrupts the processes of oxidative phosphorylation, which leads to the interruption of anaerobic glycolysis in the body of tapeworms, as a result of which the latter lose mobility, die and are digested in the intestine.
When administered orally, it acts in the cavities of the small and large intestine. Not amenable to metabolism. The half-life is 2.5-5 hours. Excreted in the feces.
Oxybendazole – a derivative of benzimidazole, has a broad spectrum of action against nematodes and cestodes. Blocks fumarate reductase and disrupts energy metabolism in helminths, causing paralysis and death of parasites at all stages of development within a few hours after application.
Oxybendazole is broken down in the liver to metabolites, has no anthelmintic activity.
Levamisole hydrochloride is a synthetic imidazothiazole derivative with a narrow spectrum of action and is an immunostimulant. Anthelmintic action is due to blockade of the enzyme succinate dehydrogenase, which causes disruption of energy metabolism in parasites and depolarization of muscle cell membranes of helminths. Only some nematodes are sensitive to levamisole.
It is well absorbed when taken orally, the maximum concentration in the blood is reached in 1.5-2 hours. Metabolized in the liver with the formation of inactive metabolites. Excreted mainly by the kidneys (95%), partly with feces unchanged. The half-life is 3-4 hours.
Indication
Treatment and prevention of helminthiasis in mixed invasions caused by:
- dogs, cats: larvae and adult helminths of the gastrointestinal tract – hookworm (Ancylostoma caninum), dipilidiosis (Dipylidium caninum), diphyllobothrium (Diphyllobothrium latum, D. minus), toxocariasis (Toxocara canis, T. cati), Toxascaris Tricharis vulpis, T. nutpia), teniosis (Taenia hydatigena, T. multiceps);
- ornamental bird: ascaridia (Ascaridia galli, A. dissimilis, A. columbae), capillariasis (Capillaria anseris, C. anatis, S. contorta), syngamus (Syngamus trachea), streptocarosis (Streptocara crassicauda), hymenolepidosis (Hymenolepis, Hymenolepis, paracompressa, Fimbriaria fasciolaris), tetramerosis (Tetrameres fissispina).
Contraindication
Do not use in animals with intestinal atony.
Do not use poultry from which people eat.
Method of application and dosage
Dogs and cats are given once in crushed form with food or forcibly at the root of the tongue.

- family of geese and ducks – 1 table. per 2 kg of body weight, the course – 2 days.
Reservation
Do not exceed the recommended doses. In some animals with severe invasion may be complications due to intoxication due to digestion of dead helminths: urticaria and itching in the rectum, anxiety, diarrhea, vomiting. These symptoms quickly disappear without special treatment.
