Fypryst COMBO Amflee for dogs 20-40 kg, 268 mg / 241.2 mg, 2.68 ml x 3 pipettes
Description
Transparent yellow solution.
Structure
1 ml of the drug contains active ingredients:
fipronil – 100 mg
S-methoprene 90 mg
Excipients: K 25, polysorbate 80, butylhydroxytoluene (E 321), butylhydroxyanisole (E 320), ethanol 96%, diethylene glycol monoethyl ether.
Pharmacological properties
ATC vet QP53, ectoparasiticides, insecticides and repellents (QP53AX65, fipronil, combinations)
Pharmacological
The drug is a contact insect-acaricidal solution for external use, contains two active ingredients fipronil and S-methoprene.
Fipronil belongs to the group of phenylpyrazoles. Its mechanism of action is to block the GABA-dependent receptors of parasites, disrupt the transmission of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of ectoparasites. Fleas die from fipronil within 24 hours, ticks (Dermacentor reticulatus, Dermacentor variabilis, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Ixodes scapularis, Ixodes ricinus, Haemaphysalis longicornis, Haemaphysalis flava, Haemaphysalis within 48 hours) and
S-methoprene is an insect growth regulator (IGR) that belongs to a class of compounds known as juvenile hormone analogs that inhibit the development of immature insects. S-methoprene promotes the formation of chitin and thus disrupts the development of fleas in the egg, larval and pupal stages. The ovocidal effect of S-methoprene appears as a result of direct penetration into the shell of only laid eggs.
Pharmacokinetics
The main metabolite of fipronil is the sulfonic derivative of fipronil. S-methoprene is extensively decomposed into carbon dioxide and acetate, which are subsequently incorporated into endogenous substances.
Pharmacokinetic parameters after spot application of fipronil and S-methoprene in combination were investigated in dogs in comparison with intravenous administration of fipronil or S-methoprene alone. Absorption limits and other pharmacokinetic parameters have been established. Topically (point) application leads to low systemic absorption of fipronil (11%) with low maximum concentration (C m fl about 35 ng / ml fipronil and 55 ng / ml fipronil sulfone in plasma.
The maximum plasma concentration of fipronil is reached slowly (t ™, approximately 101 hours) and decreases slowly (the mean terminal half-life is approximately 154 hours, the highest in males).
Fipronil is extensively metabolized to fipronil sulfone following topical application.
Plasma S-methoprene concentrations below the quantification line (20 ng / ml) in dogs after topical application.
S-methoprene and fipronil, together with the main metabolite, are well distributed in the coat of dogs within one day after application. The concentration of fipronil, fipronil-sulfone and S-methoprene in wool decreases over time and is detected at least 60 days after application. Ectoparasites die mainly due to contact action, and not as a result of systemic exposure.
The pharmacological interaction between fipronil and S-methoprene has not been established.
Application
Prevention and treatment of dogs with ectoparasite lesions:
- fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.);
- ticks(Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor variabilis, Dermacentor reticulatus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus);
- lice (Trichodectes canis).
Prevention and treatment of dogs with flea allergic dermatitis (FAD).
The insecticidal efficacy of the drug against new lesions by adult fleas continues for 8 weeks after treatment with the drug. Prevents flea reproduction by inhibiting the development of eggs (ovocidal activity), larvae and pupae (larvicidal activity) from egg deposition to adult fleas within 8 weeks after treatment. The drug has a stable acaricidal efficacy (against ticks) for 4 weeks.
Dosage
The drug is used only externally.
The drug is applied to the skin in accordance with the body weight of the animals:
Dogs, body weight, kg | Number of pipettes, pcs | Pipette volume, ml | Content of active ingredients (fipronil + S-methoprene), mg |
from 2 to 10 | one | 0.67 | 67 + 60.3 |
from 10 to 20 | one | 1.34 | 134+ 120.6 |
from 20 to 40 | one | 2.68 | 268 + 241.2 |
more than 40 | one | 4.02 | 402 + 361.8 |
This corresponds to the minimum recommended dose of 6.7 mg fipronil and 6 mg S-methoprene per kg of body weight when applied topically to the skin.
The minimum treatment interval is 4 weeks.
Mode of application:
- Remove the pipette from the package. Hold the pipette upright, unscrew and remove the cap.
- Turn the cap around and insert the end of the cap back into the pipette. Press and turn the cap to open the pipette, then remove the cap from the pipette.
- Divide the fur of the animal between the shoulder blades so that the skin is visible. Press the end of the pipette directly onto the skin and squeeze out the contents of the pipette with several presses in one or two places.
Temporary changes in the coat (sticking / greasing) are possible at the site of application.
Contraindications
Do not use in puppies under 8 weeks of age!
Do not use in sick animals (eg systemic diseases, fever) and animals during the recovery period.
Do not use in rabbits due to the risk of negative reactions that can lead to the death of animals.
In the absence of studies of the effect of the drug on other types of animals, it is not recommended to use the drug for other types of animals.
The drug is intended for use exclusively in dogs. Do not use for the treatment of cats due to the risk of overdose!
Warning
The drug can be used by pregnant and lactating animals.
It is not recommended to bathe / immerse animals in water for 2 days after treatment with the drug. With an emollient shampoo, dogs can be bathed once a week, but the flea protection is reduced to 5 weeks. With a weekly bathing of dogs using a medicated shampoo with 2% chlorhexidine, the effectiveness of the drug against fleas lasts 6 weeks.
Despite the treatment of animals with the drug, the possibility of individual ticks attaching to animals is not excluded, therefore, the danger of the spread of pathogens of infectious diseases cannot be completely excluded.
Pet fleas often infect baskets, sleeping quarters and other animal habitats such as carpets and upholstered furniture, so they must be periodically cleaned and treated with appropriate insecticidal products.
Apply the drug to places inaccessible for licking by animals and do not allow animals to lick each other after processing them.
The drug can cause irritation of the mucous membranes, skin and eyes. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Do not allow the drug to get inside.
People who are hypersensitive to insecticides or alcohol are not advised to treat animals with the drug.
Do not allow the drug to come into contact with open areas of the body (fingers). If the drug gets on your hands, wash it off with soap and water.
In case of accidental contact with the eyes, rinse carefully with clean water.
After treating animals with the drug, you must thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water.
Do not drink, eat or smoke while working with the drug.
After treatment with the drug, animals must be kept separately until completely dry and small children must not be allowed to them. It is not recommended to treat animals with the drug during the day, it is better to do this in the evening. Do not allow animals, after treatment with the drug, to sleep with their owners, especially with children.
