Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug

ketoprofen – 100 mg;
Excipients: benzyl alcohol, L-arginine, water for injections.
Pharmacological properties
KETOPRO-100 is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with analgesic and antipyretic action. Ketoprofen, which is part of the drug, is a derivative of propionic acid from the group of carboxylic acids. The mechanism of action of ketoprofen is to inhibit the enzyme cyclooxygenase and inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins and thromboxane. The analgesic effect of ketoprofen is associated directly with the inhibition of bradykinin, which excites painful nerve endings and thus provokes pain. Ketoprofen acts on the central nervous system, suppressing the perception of pain. In horses, ketoprofen counteracts the effect of endotoxin and prevents bradykinin-induced intestinal spasm.
Ketoprofen is rapidly absorbed after intramuscular administration. The maximum concentration in blood plasma is reached in the range from 30 to 60 minutes. The absolute bioavailability after intramuscular administration for cattle and pigs is 90-100%, for horses – 70%.
More than 98% of ketoprofen binds to blood plasma proteins and is concentrated in inflamed tissues. The drug is excreted from the body mainly in the urine.
In the recommended doses, the drug does not have a local irritant, sensitizing, mutagenic, carcinogenic, embryotoxic and teratogenic effects.
