Iris eye drops, 10 ml
Composition and pharmacological properties
The main active ingredient in Iris eye drops is gentamicin sulfate. This tool has a strong bactericidal effect. It affects most gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The drops contain salts in an optimal ratio. Thanks to this, the drug has pronounced prolonging and regenerating properties. Eye drops “Iris” are installed in the conjunctival cavity, where they are absorbed onto the conjunctival mucosa. Through the cornea, the drug easily penetrates into the intraocular media. This provides a stable concentration of the agent inside the eye of a cat or dog and an antibacterial effect in case of lesions of deep endocular structures, cornea, and conjunctiva.
Indications and contraindications
The remedy is indicated for conjunctivitis (chronic, acute), keratoconjunctivitis, keratitis, blepharitis, uveitis (iridocyclitis), dacryocystitis. It is also recommended to use the drug “Iris” for the treatment of barley, septic ulcers of the cornea, other infectious diseases of the anterior segment of the eye, trauma to the eyeball and adjacent tissues in cats and dogs. A contraindication to use is the individual sensitivity of the animal to gentamicin.
