Pharmacological properties
Has antimicrobial, antiparasitic, keratolytic, anti-inflammatory, irritating effect.
When applied to the skin, sulfur is irritating, converting to hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and sulfur dioxide (SO2), which act as an antiparasitic agent.
Indications
For the treatment of animals with parasitic skin lesions, scabies, trichophytosis, microsporia, eczema, furunculosis, dermatitis of various etiologies in cattle, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs, cats.
Method of administration and dosage
For the treatment of sick animals, sulfuric ointment is used in the form of medical dressings, applications 1 time in 2-3 days. With an open method of treatment, the ointment is applied in a thin layer to the site of the lesion twice a day. The amount of ointment depends on the size of the affected area. For mycotic skin lesions, the ointment is applied in a thin layer to the affected surface and 2-4 cm around it.
