Description:
Ointment from gray to gray-brown or brown in color with a specific odor.
Structure:
1 g of the drug contains active ingredients:
salicylic acid – 30 mg;
sulfur – 100 mg;
zinc oxide -100 mg;
birch tar – 80 mg;
gum turpentine – 10 mg
auxiliary substances (anhydrous lanolin, emulsifier, petroleum jelly) up to 1 g.
Pharmacological properties:
ATCvet QD10A, local veterinary drugs.
The ointment has pronounced fungicidal, bactericidal and ectoparasitic properties due to the synergistic action of the substances that are part of the preparation.
When applied to the skin, the ointment acts in a variable, astringent-keratoplastic manner, accelerates the healing process of wounds. Penetrating into the upper layers of the skin, the components of the preparation destroy ectoparasites throughout the entire depth of the lesion.
Application:
For the treatment of cattle, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry, dogs, rabbits with skin diseases (eczema, dermatitis, trichophytosis, scabies, necrobacteriosis of hooves, hoof rot in sheep).
Dosage:
Before use, the ointment is thoroughly mixed, since separation of components may be observed during prolonged storage. The ointment is applied in a thin layer to the affected area of the skin and 2-4 cm around it without first removing the scales and shaving the hair. The affected areas are treated 1-2 times a day until the scales are separated. If after 4-5 days the scales have not moved away, the ointment continues to be applied further. As a rule, after 7-10 days, the affected areas are freed from scales and hair growth resumes on them. 10 days after the start of treatment, control microscopic examination of scrapings is performed. If pathogens are detected, treatment is continued.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Acute course of the disease (purulent processes).
Caveats:
With individual sensitivity of animals to the components of the drug, skin irritation is possible.
It is not recommended for the treatment of cats.
