Synulox tabs (Synulox), 10 tabs of 50 mg
It is used to treat infectious diseases of dogs and cats of bacterial etiology, including:
– skin diseases (including deep and superficial pyoderma)
– urinary tract infections
– respiratory infections of bacterial etiology (when both upper and lower respiratory tracts are involved in the infectious process)
Composition and release form
Sinulox tablets 50 mg are round pink tablets with a dividing groove on one side and the inscription “Sinulox” on the other side. Each sinulox 50 mg tablet contains 40 mg of amoxicillin in the form of amoxicillin trihydrate and 10 mg of clavulanic acid in the form of sodium clavulanate. They are produced in packs of 10 pieces in foil strips, which are placed in cardboard boxes.
Amoxicillin is a semisynthetic broad-spectrum penicillin that has a rapid bactericidal effect on many gram-positive (Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Corynebacterium spp.) And gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Proteteus spp.) including b-lactamase-producing strains. Resistance to b-lactam antibacterial drugs is usually due to the ability of microorganisms to produce b-lactamase, an enzyme that destroys the b-lactam ring of an antibiotic before it can act on a bacterial cell. Clavulanic acid, which is part of sinulox, inactivates b-lactamase and thereby restores the sensitivity of the bacteria to the bactericidal action of amoxicillin in concentrations
Prescribe to dogs and cats for the treatment of infections of bacterial etiology: diseases of the skin and soft tissues (abscesses, pyoderma, inflammation of the paranoid glands, gingivitis, stomatitis, etc.), respiratory diseases, diseases of the genitourinary system and enteritis.
Doses and method of administration
Sinulox tablets 50 mg are administered to sick animals directly into the mouth or crumbled together with feed at a dose of 12.5 mg per 1 kg of animal weight (for example, if an animal weighs 3-5 kg, 1 tablet of sinulox 50 mg is given, with an animal weighing 14-18 kg – 4 tablets of Sinulox 50 mg) 2 times a day for 5-7 days. If the disease is difficult to treat, especially with respiratory infections, you can increase the dose of Sinulox by 2 times (up to 25 mg per 1 kg of animal weight) twice a day or shorten the intervals between drug administration. In the case of chronic or intractable diseases, often accompanied by significant tissue damage, a longer course of sinulox therapy is recommended: the duration of treatment for chronic skin diseases and chronic cystitis is 10-28 days, for respiratory diseases – 8-10 days.
In hypersensitive animals, allergic reactions are possible. With proper use and dosage, side effects are not observed.
Contraindications Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Sinulox, like other antibiotics of the penicillin series, is not allowed to be prescribed to rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and gerbils. The drug should be used with great caution in other small herbivores.
No special precautions are provided. The use of the drug is not indicated for pseudomonous infection. Sinulox 50 mg tablets can be used as an alternative to injectable antibiotics in the treatment of small animals.
