Dr. Seidel shampoo with chlorhexidine and ketoconazole

Dr. Seidel’s shampoos have excellent properties for washing and caring for animals. Dr. Seidel’s shampoo, due to the content of chlorhexidine 3% and ketoconazole 1%, is not only a cosmetic shampoo, but also an effective adjuvant in the treatment of dermatitis and the prevention of skin diseases. The natural proteins derived from cereal grains, which are part of the composition, restore the softness and shine of the coat.

Dr. Seidel’s shampoo with chlorhexidine and ketoconazole has a broad spectrum of action and is recommended as an additional treatment for:

• bacterial infections: purulent inflammation of the skin tabs, bacterial folliculitis, acne in dogs, secondary bacterial pododermatitis;
• fungal infections: dermatophytosis, infections caused by the fungus Malassezia;
• dermatitis: dermatophytosis, atopy, flea allergic dermatitis, as well as hormone-induced dermatitis.

The mechanism of action of chlorhexidine is based on the interaction of the bacterial cell membrane with negative ions, therefore it has a stronger effect on gram-positive bacteria G (+) than on gram-negative G (-). The bactericidal effect of chlorhexidine lasts up to 2 days. Ketoconazole has strong antifungal properties against yeast and dermatophytes. Ketoconazole inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, a compound required to build the cell membrane of fungi. It is widely known and often used in anti-dandruff shampoos for humans.

Attention! To achieve the maximum effect of the drug, at least 5-10 minutes contact with the skin of the animal is required.

Application

Shampoo, dilute with water before use. Comb the dog or cat well. Moisten the animal’s fur and skin thoroughly with water. Apply shampoo and massage vigorously until lather appears. Leave on for 5-10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with water. Repeat if necessary. Avoid contact with the mouth, eyes and ears of the animal. In case of skin problems, the frequency and method of application should be consulted with a veterinarian.
