Brovermectin gel Horse Wormer contains Ivermectin, 60 ml
Storage
1 ml of the drug contains:
ivermectin – 4 mg
Description
Gel of white color, uniform consistency.
Pharmacological properties
Ivermectin belongs to the chemical group of macrocyclic lactones. The pharmacological action is to block the conductivity of chloride ion channels, which disrupts the transmission of nerve impulses and leads to paralysis and death of parasites. Releases inhibitory neurotransmitter (gamma-aminobutyric acid) from presynaptic nerve endings, binds to postsynaptic receptors and opens chloride channels. This leads to hyperpolarization of neurons, their dysfunction and subsequent paralysis of parasites.
It is better absorbed when taken orally than when administered subcutaneously. It has lipophilic properties and is deposited in adipose tissue, regardless of the method of application. The body of animals eliminates it gradually, which prolongs the antiparasitic effect of the drug for up to 3 weeks.
Absorption of drugs with ivermectin is very high, although it occurs gradually. In animals with a single-chamber stomach, it is about 95%. Up to 90% of the administered dose is excreted during the first 4 days. The maximum concentration in blood plasma is observed on average in 6 hours and makes 21,4-82,3 ng / ml.
