1 g of powder contains active ingredient: levamisole hydrochloride – 80 mg.

pharmachologic effect

Levomizole hydrochloride is a levorotatory isomer, belongs to the imidazole group and is a biologically active derivative of tetramisole. By inhibiting the enzyme acetylcholinesrase, it blocks the formation of ATP, affects the neuromuscular system of the parasite, causes contraction of its muscles and paralysis, which leads to the death of parasites in the first 12-24 hours after administration. In the liver of animals, levamisole is transformed into oxymercaptoethylphenyl-imidazolidine, which has a positive effect on the immune system of mammals and birds.

Application

For deworming cattle, sheep, pigs, dogs, birds (chickens, geese, turkeys, pigeons), against gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematode invasions caused by:

– in  cattle, sheep and goats :

Haemonchus   spp.,    Ostertagia   spp.,   Trichostrongylus   spp.,   Cooperia   spp.,   Nematodirus   spp., Oesophagostomum spp., Bunostomum spp., Trichurus spp., Strongyloides spp., Dictyocaulus spp.;

– in  pigs:

Ascaris   spp.,   Oesophagostomum   spp.,   Trichuris   spp.,   Strongyloides   spp.,   Hystrongylus   spp., Metastrongylus spp.;

– in dogs:

Toxocara spp., Toxascaris spp., Ancylostoma spp., Uncinaria spp. 

–  in birds (chickens, geese, turkeys, pigeons):

Ascaridia galli, Heterakis gallinarum, Capillaria spp., Trichostrongylus spp.

Dosage:

Cattle, sheep, pigs, dogs  – once, orally with water or feed 1 g per 10 kg

body weight.

Poultry  – 3-4 g per 10 kg of body weight orally with water, or this dose is divided for administration

within 3-4 days. For pigeons – 1 g of the drug per glass of water. This solution replaces all

drinking water for 3-5 days.

Contraindications

Do not use in females in the last third of pregnancy, breeding producers in the breeding period, as well as laying hens and emaciated animals.

Do not use together with pyrantel, morantel, organophosphates,

neostigmine.

Caveats

After the introduction of levomizole, animals and birds are allowed to be slaughtered for meat after 7 days,

milk and eggs can be eaten after 3 days. In case of slaughter of the previously installed

term, meat is used to feed carnivores or to make meat and bone meal, and milk is drunk on unproductive animals.

Storage

Store in a dry, dark place at temperatures from + 1 ° C to + 25 ° C.
