The package contains 100 test strips individually wrapped.
Tear Strips (Tear Flo) is used to diagnose dry eye syndrome (dry eye syndrome). The measured parameter is the production of tear fluid.
The Schirmer test is an assay for measuring the amount of tears (measurement of tear production). It is used when diagnosing Sjogren’s syndrome or keratoconjunctivitis to determine the level of dry eyes.
Mode of application:
Pull the lower eyelid slightly downward while gently placing the short, folded end of the test strip behind the lower eyelid. Simultaneous testing of both eyes is advisable. After 5 minutes, remove the strip and measure the length of the wetted area from the fold line.
Interpretation of results:
- Normal values are test strip wettability over 15 mm in 5 minutes.
- Slightly reduced – from 10 to 15 mm in 5 minutes.
- Moderately reduced – from 5 to 10 mm in 5 minutes.
- A pronounced decrease in indicators – less than 5 mm in 5 minutes.
