A thick, homogeneous gel-like mass from light yellow to yellow-brown in color with a specific odor.
structure
1 g of the drug contains active ingredients (mg): propolis – 100.0; thymol – 1.0.
Excipients: petroleum jelly, lanolin.
Pharmacological properties
Pharmacological properties of the drug are due to the peculiarities of the interaction of active components of propolis and thymol.
Propolis , due to the content of plant resins, balms, essential oils, tannins, aromatic unsaturated acids, minerals, trace elements and vitamins, provides antimicrobial, antiviral, antifungal, analgesic, anti-inflammatory and regenerative effects.
Thymolexhibits antimicrobial, pronounced fungistatic and antiviral effects, prevents and slows down the development of the inflammatory process of infectious etiology.
application
The drug is intended for the treatment of cattle, sheep, goats, horses, pigs, dogs, cats with skin lesions (wounds, cracks, cuts, scratches, trauma, rash, itching, erosion, ulcers, burns, frostbite, fungal diseases, eczema, boils, carbuncles) in case of purulent-necrotic processes in the area of the mid-pit and the base of the skin of the hooves; with erosion and ulcers on the mucous membranes of the nose and lips, with inflammation of the eyelids, as well as with vaginitis, vestibulitis, cervicitis.
dosage
For minor skin lesions and on the mucous membranes of the lips or nasal passages, the ointment is applied in a thin layer 2-3 times a day until recovery, after preliminary aseptic treatment.
In complicated cases, bandages, applications and tampons with ointment are used. After careful aseptic processing, gauze napkins soaked in warm ointment are applied to the lesion site and a fixing bandage with a hygroscopic layer is applied. Dressings are changed after 2-3 days. Deep wounds are tamponed with gauze napkins soaked in ointment.
For vaginitis, vestibulitis, cervicitis, tampons soaked in ointment are injected into the vagina 2 times a day, after rinsing its cavity with saline or disinfectant solution.
