Floxy spray, 200 ml
Description
The liquid is dark blue.
Stock
100 ml of the drug contains active substances:
fluorophenicol – 2.5 g;
gentian violet – 0.3 g
Excipients: methylpyrrolidone, ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, polyethylene glycol, and dimethyl sulfoxide.
Pharmacological properties
Fluorophenicol is a derivative of thiamphenicol, in which the hydroxyl group is replaced by a fluorine atom, which determines its antibacterial activity against acetyltransferase-synthesizing bacteria.
Fluorophenicol acts bacteriostatically on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, namely: Fusobacteriumnecrophorum, Bacteroidesmelaninogenicus, Streptococcusspp., Staphylococcusspp., Pasteurellaspp., Salmonellaspp., Proteusspp., Pseudomonass.
Fluorophenicol inhibits protein synthesis in bacterial cells. In the protoplasm, it binds to 70S-ribosomal subunits, inhibiting the enzymatic activity of peptidyltransfepharase, thus inhibiting protein synthesis in the ribosomes of the respective bacteria.
Gentian violet belongs to the group of rosaniline derivatives, which belong to the medicinal dyes with a pronounced antiseptic effect. Its antimicrobial and antifungal action against Staphylococcusspp., Candidaspp., Is the ability to disrupt redox reactions in the cells of microorganisms. The astringent effect of gentian violet is expressed in the effect on water-salt and tissue metabolism in damaged tissues. This leads to a decrease in hydration, blocking the penetration of pathogenic microflora and products of their vital activity from the area of dead tissues into healthy ones, restoration of blood microcirculation and, as a consequence, acceleration of regeneration of damaged areas and tissue granulation. Thus, gentian violet complements the action of fluorophenicol.
Phloxy spray when applied topically acts locally and practically does not penetrate into the circulatory system.
Application
Cattle: treatment of animals with omphalitis, panaritium, interdigital dermatitis, as well as traumatic skin injuries (wounds, cracks, scratches), traumatic nipple injuries, infectious lesions of the horns and hooves (including necro bacteriosis), trophic ulcers open abscesses caused by microorganisms sensitive to fluorophenicol. The drug is used for skin treatment after surgery.
Sheep, goats: treatment of animals with panaritium, interdigital dermatitis, as well as traumatic and surgical wounds (including skin wounds when cutting wool), infectious lesions of the horns and hooves (including hoof rot and necrobacteriosis), ulcers , open abscesses caused by microorganisms sensitive to fluorophenicol.
Horses: treatment of animals with traumatic and surgical wounds (including after castration), infectious lesions of the hooves (including necrobacteriosis), panaritium, ulcers, bruises, open abscesses caused by microorganisms sensitive to fluorophenicol.
Pigs: treatment of animals with eczema, exudative epidermis, panaritium, interdigital necrosis, as well as traumatic and surgical wounds (including after castration), infectious lesions of the hooves (including necrobacteriosis), bruises, ulcers, eczema, bites, open abscesses caused by microorganisms sensitive to fluorophenicol.
Rabbits: treatment of animals with bacterial dermatitis, panaritium, pyoderma, eczema, as well as traumatic and surgical wounds (including after castration), scratching, bites, bruises, ulcers and open abscesses caused by microorganisms sensitive to fluorophenicol .
Dosage
Before applying the drug, the affected area is thoroughly cleaned of exudate, and necrotic tissue.
Holding the pre-shaken vial at a distance of 10-15 cm from the surface of the damaged area of skin, press the spray 1-2 times. The drug should be used every 12 hours. The course of treatment depends on the degree of lesion and the rate of healing, but should not exceed 10 days.
Contraindication
Increased individual sensitivity to the drug.
Do not use concomitantly with thiamphenicol or chloramphenicol.
Reservation
