Pharmacological properties
The action of the lotion is due to the properties of the complex of active and auxiliary substances. The tool has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, epithelizing effect, has a soothing effect, eliminates itching. Benzalkonium chloride – has a wide spectrum of antimicrobial activity and bactericidal properties. Benzalkonium chloride is an antiseptic from the group of quaternary ammonium compounds. It acts as a cationic detergent. Due to its emulsifying properties, it depolarizes the cytoplasmic membranes of microorganisms and therefore increases their permeability. Due to this, it acts bactericidal against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as Candida albicans.
Tincture of calendula (Tinctura Calendulae) – biologically active substances contained in flowers and flower baskets of calendula (flavonoid and carotenoid glycosides, saponins, tannins, essential oil, organic acids) have antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects.
Tea tree oil is a natural plant essential oil containing over 100 different components, the most important of which are 1,8-cineole; terpinene, terpinen-4-ol.
Natural terpinen-4-ol is considered the most important active ingredient, which determines the antiseptic effect of the oil. Extracted from tea tree oil, terpinen-4-ol is practically non-irritating to the skin. Tea tree oil inhibits the growth of microorganisms such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus beta haemolyticus, Ps. Aeruginosa, C. albicans, Malassezia furfur, Tr. Mentagrophytes and Tr. rubrum, A. niger, P. vulgaris and Legionella pneumophilla.
In addition to antimicrobial activity, tea tree oil has an anti-inflammatory effect, helps to increase the permeability of the skin for biologically active substances. Tea tree oil is able to stimulate the regeneration of damaged skin, promotes epithelialization of wounds.
When applied externally, it is practically not absorbed into the systemic circulation and does not have a general resorptive effect on the body.
Allantoin promotes wound healing, has an epithelial effect and increases the tissue’s ability to bind water. In addition, its keratolytic properties and the ability to improve permeability increase the effectiveness of other components of the drug. Allantoin also has a soothing effect that relieves itching.
The excipients provide quick and effective cleansing, have a softening effect, and have a beneficial effect on the condition of the skin of the ears.

Dosage
For hygienic treatment of the ears, moisten a cotton swab with lotion and wipe the inside of the ear.
In case of significant contamination, the lotion is introduced into the external auditory canal in an amount sufficient to wet the inner surface of the auricle and the auditory canal (1-5 ml, depending on the size of the animal), after which the ear is massaged for 15-30 seconds. The intensity and duration of the massage depends on the degree of ear contamination and soreness. For greater effectiveness, you can leave the product in the ear for 3-5 minutes. Then, with a cotton swab or napkin, remove the mixture of lotion and ear secretions from the ear canal.
