Description:
Transparent colorless liquid, odorless.
Structure:
1 ml of solution contains active ingredient:
hydrogen peroxide – 30 mg;
Excipients: sodium benzoate, purified water.
Pharmacological properties:
Hydrogen peroxide solution is an antiseptic and disinfectant. When hydrogen peroxide comes into contact with damaged skin and mucous membranes, active oxygen is released, which helps to cleanse the wound surface and inactivate organic substances (blood, pus). A large amount of foam that forms during application contributes to the mechanical cleansing of the wound from pus and tissue detritus. When using the drug, only a temporary decrease in the number of microorganisms occurs. Irrigation with a solution of the dressing ensures painless removal of the dressing from the wound.
Application:
To stop capillary bleeding with superficial tissue damage, nosebleeds, for the treatment of purulent wounds, burns; to disinfect and accelerate the healing of fresh wounds; for disinfection of the operating field and the hands of a veterinarian.
Dosage:
To stop capillary bleeding, for applications and treatment of the wound surface, the affected areas are treated with a tampon soaked in a solution of hydrogen peroxide; for disinfection, the solution is applied directly to the damaged area of the skin. Carry out treatment until clinical effect.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the drug.
Do not inject into cavities and deep wounds (the possibility of embolism).
Side effect:
A burning sensation may occur when treating a wound. In some cases, with individual intolerance to the drug, local allergic reactions may occur.
Caveats:
The use of the drug in large doses can lead to burns of the surface of the wound.
Avoid getting the solution in the eyes.
The solution is not stable in an alkaline environment, in the presence of metals, as well as in light and heat.
A solution of hydrogen peroxide 3% cannot be used together with drugs that have oxidizing, reducing and alkaline properties.
