Description
Homogeneous transparent gel-like liquid soap of brown color with the smell of iodine.
Structure
Liquid soap contains povidone iodine, sodium lauryl sulfate, cocamidopropyl betaine, diethanolamide of coconut oil fatty acids, glycerin, propylene glycol, citric acid, sodium chloride, purified water.
Pharmacological properties
Liquid soap “Septikol” has disinfecting, anti-inflammatory and detergent properties.
Povidone-iodine, upon contact with the skin and mucous membrane, releases iodine and exhibits a pronounced antiseptic effect due to the ability of iodine to oxidize various intracellular and membrane structures of microorganism cells. Due to this, liquid soap has a bactericidal, fungicidal, sporicidal and selective antiviral effect, active against protozoa. The brown color of the soap indicates its effectiveness, the discoloration indicates the decrease in its effectiveness.
Liquid soap effectively removes dirt and detritus, at the same time disinfects and deodorizes the skin surface, promotes healing of minor cracks and scratches, and can be easily washed off with water.
Application
Used to remove and destroy the transient microflora of the hands before any surgical interventions and to reduce the risk of occupational infection in contact with infected animals and their secretions, as well as for hygienic treatment of wound surfaces, in order to prevent their infection, the birth canal during gynecological interventions, during the preparation of animals to surgery; processing of non-metallic tools, probes, etc.
Dosage
For hygienic treatment, the skin area is moistened with warm tap water, then about 5 ml of liquid soap is applied to the sponge and evenly rubbed into the skin for 2 minutes. If necessary, water is added to form a foam; after treatment, the site is thoroughly rinsed with warm water.
To treat the hands of the surgeon, about 3 ml of liquid soap is applied to the palm of the hand and evenly distributed over the surface of the skin, if necessary, add water to form a foam. The treatment is carried out for 3 minutes, then the soap is thoroughly washed off and this procedure is repeated again, then the hands are thoroughly rinsed with sterile water and dried with sterile material.
If there is a likelihood of infection, the hands are treated for 5 minutes, then the soap is washed off under running water.
Liquid antiseptic soap is used undiluted.
A single press on the dispenser delivers a 1 ml dose.
Contraindications

Warning
Avoid getting soap in your eyes.
In the presence of blood, the bactericidal effect of soap is reduced.
Liquid soap “Septikol” is incompatible with reducing substances, alkaloid salts and cationic antiseptics; interacts with strong alkalis, sodium thiosulfate, sodium metabisulfite, thiomersal and acidic substances.
Do not use simultaneously with preparations containing chlorhexidine, silver sulfadiazine, mercury and preparations containing enzymes.
