Amitrazin-Forte with dispenser (amitraz, clotrimazole) 20 ml
Description:
Yellowish oily liquid with a specific odor.
Structure:
1 ml of the drug contains active ingredients:
amitraz – 2 mg;
clotrimazole – 10 mg.
Excipients: dimethyl sulfoxide, PEG-400.
Pharmacological properties:
Amitraz is an acaricide from the amidine group, active against sarcoptoid ticks (Otodectes spp., Psoroptes Notoedres cati), as well as Demodex spp. Amitraz acts by contact, disrupting the octopamine receptors of the tick’s nervous system, which causes paralysis and death of parasites, negatively affects the reproductive organs of female ticks, reducing the production of eggs and their viability.
Clotrimazole is an antimycotic agent from the group of imidazole derivatives with a wide spectrum of antifungal (Trichophyton Epidermophyton Microsporum) and weak antibacterial action (Streptococcus spp.). The mechanism of action of clotrimazole is to block the synthesis of nucleic acids and proteins, as well as the synthesis of ergosterol in fungal cells, which leads to damage to their cell walls and cell death.
The drug is effective against resistant populations of ticks that are resistant to chlorine and phosphate insecticides. It penetrates and is deposited in the epidermis, hair follicles, fat and sweat glands and exhibits acaricidal, anti-inflammatory and emollient effects.
Application:
Treatment of dogs, cats and fur-bearing animals with otodectosis, sarcoptic mange, notoedrosis, demodicosis and fungal skin diseases; with the joint course of parasitic invasion and infections caused by pathogenic fungi.
Dosage:
With otodectosis, 0.2-0.5 ml of the drug is instilled, depending on the size of the animal, into both ears (even in cases of damage to only one). The ear canal is preliminarily cleaned of scabs and crusts with a swab, which is moistened with the preparation; for a complete treatment of the ear surface, the auricle is folded in half lengthwise and lightly massaged. The treatment is carried out once a day after 3 days until the clinical signs of the disease disappear (3-5 treatments).
In case of demodicosis, sarcoptic mange and notoedrosis, the drug is applied to previously cleansed affected skin areas from the periphery to the center at the rate of 0.5 ml / kg of body weight once a day 2-3 days before the disappearance of clinical signs of the disease (6-8 treatments), additionally treat the skin around the affected areas with a width of at least 1 cm. With a large area of skin lesions, it is recommended to treat the affected areas first on one half of the animal’s body, in a day – on the second half of the body.
In case of fungal diseases, the treatment of the affected areas of the skin of animals is carried out in this way once a day for 3-5 days.
Three drops of the drug from a bottle with a dispenser and 12 drops of a drug from a bottle with a dropper correspond to 0.5 ml.
