Сekvin 250, 100 ml (cefquin) Solution for injection for Cattle, Pigs
Storage:
1 ml of the drug contains the active substance: cefquin (sulfate) – 25 mg.
Excipients: triglyceride, aluminum stearate, butylhydroxytoluene, butylhydroxyanisole.
Application:
Cattle: treatment of animals suffering from acute mastitis, septicemia, as well as diseases of the respiratory system, skin, hooves caused by microorganisms sensitive to cefquin.
Pigs: treatment of animals with MMA syndrome (mastitis-metritis-agalactia), arthritis, meningitis, dermatitis, as well as respiratory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to cefquin.
Dosage:
Intravenous administration in doses:
cattle – 2 ml of the drug per 50 kg of body weight or 1 mg of cefquin per 1 kg of body weight of the animal daily for 3-5 days (for mastitis, the course of treatment is 2 days);
calves – 4 ml of the drug per 50 kg of body weight or 2 mg of cefquin per 1 kg of body weight of the animal daily for 3-5 days;
pigs – 2 ml of the drug per 25 kg of body weight or 2 mg of cefquin per 1 kg of body weight of the animal daily for 3 days (for MMA syndrome, the course of treatment is 2 days);
piglets – 2 ml of the drug per 25 kg of body weight or 2 mg of cefquin per 1 kg of body weight of the animal daily for 5 days.
Contraindication:
Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins and ß-lactam antibiotics.
Withdrawal period (withdrawal period):
Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed in 5 days (cattle) and 3 days (pigs) after the last application of the drug. Milk consumption is allowed 24 hours after the last use of the drug. Meat and milk obtained before this date are consumed or fed to unproductive animals, depending on the opinion of the veterinarian.
