Structure

100 ml of the preparation contains the active ingredient:

doramectin 1.0 g

Excipients: butylhydroxytoluene, benzyl alcohol, sesame oil.

Pharmacological properties

The active substance of the drug Doramek P.D. doramectin is a macrocyclic lactone, a semi-synthetic derivative of the avermectin group. A single injection of the drug reliably protects animals from nematodes and insects. It is easily absorbed from the injection site, acts with high efficiency and there is no negative effect on the animal’s body. The pharmacokinetic features of doramectin ensure the maintenance of therapeutic concentrations in the blood of animals and protect against reinvasion for a long time. The prolonged action is twice as long as compared to other preparations containing ivermectin.

The drug Doramek P.D. detrimental effect against nematodes: Oesophagostomum, Ostertagia, Haemonchus, Trichostrongylus, Cooperia, Bunostomum, Strongyloides, Trichuris, Dictyocaulus; insects: Thelazia, Hypo derma, Haematopinus, Linognathus, Solenopotes, Psor optes, Sarcoptes and other parasites. By binding to specific receptors, doramectin increases the permeability of synaptic membranes for chlorine ions, which leads to blockade of the electrical activity of neuromuscular cells of nematodes and arthropods, leading to paralysis and death of parasites. In mammals, these receptors are localized only in the central nervous system, and doramectin does not penetrate the blood-brain barrier, therefore, in recommended doses, it is safe for mammals.

Application

Treatment of cattle, sheep, goats, camels, pigs with parasitic diseases caused by nematodes and ectoparasites, and their prevention:

• Cattle: gastrointestinal nematodes (adults and larvae), pulmonary nematodes (adults and larvae), ophthalmic worms (adults), gadfly larvae, lice, itch mites;
• Sheep, goats, camels: gastrointestinal nematodes (adults and larvae), pulmonary nematodes (adults and larvae), scabies mites;
• Pigs: gastrointestinal nematodes (adults and larvae), pulmonary nematodes (adults and larvae), renal worms, scabies mites.

Endoparasites:

• Renal parasites: Stephanurus dentatus.

Ectoparasites:

• Larval stage of Diptera flying insects: Dermatobia hominis, Hypoderma bovis, H. lineatum, Cochliomyia hominivorax, Oestrus ovis.
• Vines: Linognatus vituli, Haematopinuseurysternus, H. suis, Bovicola spp., Damalinea bovis, D. aucheniae.
• Acariform ticks: Psoroptes bovis, Sarcoptes scabiei var. bovis, Chorioptes bovis, Demodex spp., Psoroptes aucheniae.
• Parasitiforms are mites: Boophilus microplus, Amblyommaparvitarsum.

Dosage

Recommended doses of the drug Doramek P.D .:

• Cattle: 1 ml / 50 kg body weight, once subcutaneously in the neck;
• Sheep, goats, camels 1 ml / 50 kg body weight once;
• Pigs: 1 ml / 33 kg body weight, single dose, intramuscularly.

If the dose is more than 10 ml, it is recommended to split it and inject it into two places.

Contraindications

Do not administer the drug to females during lactation if milk is used for human consumption.

Do not use the drug in cows and heifers 60 days before calving.

For pregnant and lactating sows, there are no reservations on the use of the drug.

Withdrawal period

Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed 50 days after the last use of the drug. In the forced slaughter of animals, meat is used to feed carnivores.

Storage
