Description:
Gel from translucent to white.
Composition:
1 ml of the preparation contains the active ingredient:
ivermectin – 4 mg.
Gel base up to 1 ml.
Pharmacological properties:
Ivermectin is a macrocyclic lactone, which, by increasing the production of the inhibitory neurotransmitter – gamma-aminobutyric acid, disrupts the transmission of nerve impulses in parasites, which leads to their paralysis and death. The drug has a wide range of antiparasitic action, has a detrimental effect on nematodes, gadfly larvae, causative agents of sarcoptoidosis and animal entomosis.
Application:
For the treatment and prevention of parasitosis of horses, which are caused by:
pulmonary nematodes: Dictyocaulus arnfieldi;
nematodes: Onchocerca reticulata; Parafilaria multipapillosa by
nematodes of the alimentary canal of families: Strongylidae, Strongyloididae, Oxyuridae, Ascaridae, Spiruridae;
gadfly larvae: Gasterophilus spp.
Dosage:
For treatment and prophylaxis, the drug is administered to horses once orally at a dose of 1 ml per 20 kg of animal body weight, which corresponds to 0.2 mg / kg of body weight. The drug is squeezed onto the root of the tongue from a syringe-tube, which is injected into the interdental space of the oral cavity, then the animal’s head is raised for a few seconds. The required volume of the drug is determined by the scale of the syringe-tube piston.

Contraindications:
Do not use in foals under the age of 4 months, malnourished animals and in acute diseases.
Caveats:
During the week after deworming, it is not recommended to use animals for heavy work. Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed no earlier than 28 days after the last treatment with the drug. The meat of animals treated with the drug, forced to be killed earlier than the specified period, is fed to unproductive animals or disposed of (depending on the conclusion of the veterinarian).
