COMPOSITION AND FORM OF ISSUE
Disposable polypropylene applicator (syringe). Each syringe contains 7.74 g of paste, in which
120 mg ivermectin (15.5 mg / g)
600 mg praziquantel (77.5 mg / g).
INDICATIONS
It is prescribed for the treatment of mixed cestode-nematode and arthropod invasions in horses, namely:
– adult tapeworms: Anoplocephala perfoliatе.
– large strongylids: Strongylus vulgaris (adults and larvae in the arterial stage), S. edentatus (adults and larvae in the tissue stage), S. equinus (adults), Triodontophorus spp. (adults) and Craterostomum acuticaudatum (adults).
– adults and underdeveloped larvae (intraluminal fourth stage larvae) of small strongylids or cyatostomes, including strains resistant to benzimidazoles: Coronocyclus, Cyathostomum, Cylicocyclus, Cylicodontophorus, Cylicostephanus, Parapoteriostomiostom.
– adult hair worms: Trichostrongylus axei.
– adults and underdeveloped larvae (fourth stage larvae) pinworms: Oxyuris equi.
– adults, larvae of the third and fourth stages of nematodes (ascaris): Parascaris equorum.
– microfilariae of cervical non-melminths: Onchocerca spp.
– adults of intestinal non-melminths: Strongyloides westeri.
– large-mouth gastric worms: Habronema muscae.
– the oral and gastric stages of the gadfly larvae: Gasterophilus.
– adults and underdeveloped larvae (inhibited fourth stage larvae) of Dictyocaudus: Dictyocaulus arnfieldi.
DOSES AND METHOD OF APPLICATION
Assign orally once at a dose of 1.29 g of paste per 100 kg of live weight, which corresponds to 0.2 mg of invermectin and 1 mg of praziquantel per 1 kg of live weight.
Each syringe (7.74 g of the drug) is designed for 600 kg of live weight. It is necessary to insert a syringe into the interdental space of the horse’s mouth and squeeze the paste onto the root of the tongue.
SIDE EFFECTS
In the case of severe forms of onchocerciasis, some horses may experience swelling and itching after using the drug, caused by the death of a large number of microfilariae. These symptoms will resolve within a few days, but symptomatic therapy may be recommended. These symptoms will resolve within a few days, but symptomatic therapy may be recommended.
In cases of severe tapeworm infestation, there may be signs of mild temporary colic and loose stools.
There may be rare cases of swelling and irritation of the mouth, lips and tongue, as well as increased salivation. The nature of these reactions is temporary, appearing within 1 hour and disappearing within 24-48 hours.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not administer to animals with known hypersensitivity to active ingredients.
Do not give to mares providing milk for human consumption.
Intermectin Duo Paste is not recommended for use in foals under 2 months of age, breeding stallions and mares during the first 3 months of gestation.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
No special precautions are taken.
STORAGE CONDITIONS
The drug should be stored in the manufacturer’s sealed packaging, in a dark place out of the reach of children and animals, separately from food and feed at temperatures from 0 to 25 C.
Shelf life is 2 years.
