Structure

1 ml of the drug contains the active ingredient: meloxicam – 20 mg.

Excipients: meglumine, sodium hydroxide, disodium edetate, ethanol 96%, polyethylene glycol 400, water for injection.

Pharmacological properties

ATC-vet QM01AC06, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic drugs. Oksikami (meloxicam and combinations).
Meloxipharm is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, belongs to oxicams, has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects.
The mechanism of action lies in the ability of meloxicam to inhibit the biosynthesis of prostaglandins due to a selective process of reducing the activity of enzymes that take part in it in the focus of inflammation.
After intramuscular administration, meloxicam is completely absorbed, the maximum concentration is reached after 60-90 minutes, the concentration in the blood plasma is proportional to the administered dose. Meloxicam binds to plasma proteins, especially albumin. The drug penetrates into the synovial fluid, where its concentration is half that in plasma.
Excretion of meloxicam occurs mainly in the form of metabolites. Less than 5% of the daily dose is excreted unchanged in the feces, a small amount is excreted in the urine. The half-life is 20 hours.

Application

Treatment of cattle, horses, pigs with inflammatory processes of various etiologies, acute and chronic diseases of the musculoskeletal system (osteoarthritis, arthrosis, degenerative joint diseases, arthritis), pain syndrome of various etiologies (traumatic and postoperative pain, colic, and the like).
For the complex treatment of cattle with respiratory infections, purulent-catarrhal mastitis, pigs – with mastitis-metritis-agalactia syndrome and the treatment of postpartum sepsis in combination with antibacterial drugs, as well as an anti-inflammatory and antipyretic agent in diseases accompanied by an increase in temperature.

Dosage

Administered parenterally once in doses:

cattle – 2.5 ml of the drug per 100 kg of body weight (0.5 mg of meloxicam per 1 kg of body weight) intravenously, intramuscularly or subcutaneously;
horses – 3 ml of the drug per 100 kg of body weight (0.6 mg of meloxicam per 1 kg of body weight) intravenously or intramuscularly;
pigs – 0.2 ml of the drug per 10 kg of body weight (0.4 mg of meloxicam per 1 kg of body weight) intramuscularly;
It is recommended to dilute the preparation with sterile water before administration to small animals.
If necessary, the administration of the drug can be repeated after 24 hours.

Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug.
Severe renal and hepatic failure, dysfunction of the cardiovascular system.
Do not use in fertile and lactating mares; calves under one week of age and foals under 6 weeks of age.

Attention
There may be swelling at the injection site, which will disappear over time.
Do not use concomitantly with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, glucocorticosteroids and diuretics.
Do not mix with other drugs in the same syringe.
Slaughter of animals for meat and the use of milk for food purposes is allowed, respectively, 5 and 3 days after the last use of the drug. The meat and milk received before the specified time is disposed of or fed to unproductive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinary doctor.

Bottles made of glass, closed with a rubber stopper for aluminum rolling, 10, 20, 50, 100 ml each; 1, 2 ml glass ampoules.

Storage
A dry, dark place, inaccessible to children, at temperatures from 10 to 25 ° C.
Shelf life is 3 years. After the first selection from the bottle, use the drug within 5 days.
