Sodium chloride, solution inf. 0.9%, 10 ml
Description:
Transparent colorless liquid.
Structure:
100 ml of the preparation contains the active ingredient:
sodium chloride – 0.9 g
Excipient: water for injection.
Pharmacological properties:
A solution of sodium chloride 0.9% has a detoxification and rehydration effect, maintains and regulates the osmotic pressure of blood plasma and extracellular fluid, replenishes sodium deficiency in various pathological conditions. When administered parenterally, it briefly increases the volume of circulating blood, and has a moderate diuretic effect. With dehydration, the drug replenishes the lack of fluid in the body and normalizes the disturbed water-salt homeostasis.
It is excreted from the body by the kidneys.
Application:
Treatment of cattle, pigs, dogs with significant body fluid losses; intoxications; burn disease; toxic dyspepsia; lowering blood pressure; in a state of shock; in the postoperative period; for washing wounds, mouth and nasal cavity, mucous membrane of the eye; as a solvent for dry medicines and biological products.
Dosage:
Administered intravenously, intramuscularly or subcutaneously in doses (calculated in ml per animal):
cattle 500-3000;
pigs 10-150;
dogs 10-40.
Warm up the preparation to the body temperature of the animal before administration.
Contraindications:
Hypernatremia, acidosis, hyperchloremia, hypokalemia, extracellular hyperhydration; intracellular dehydration; edema of the brain, lungs and circulatory disorders that threaten the edema of the brain and lungs. With caution – with renal and cardiovascular failure, oliguria, anuria.
Caveats:
The introduction of large volumes of 0.9% sodium chloride solution can lead to the development of acidosis and overhydration, increase cerebral and pulmonary edema, and increase potassium loss.
With subcutaneous administration at the injection site, a slight swelling is possible, which disappears after 2-3 hours.
Intravenous injections of the drug in maximum doses are not desirable in case of circulatory disorders, the threat of pulmonary and cerebral edema, glomerulonephritis.
Release form:
Glass vials, closed with rubber stoppers for aluminum rolling, 10, 50, 100 and 200 ml each.
Storage:
Store in a dry, dark place out of the reach of children at a temperature of 5 to 25 ° C.
