It is used for the treatment and prevention of worm infestations in domestic animals and poultry.

Effective in the treatment of strongylosis, amidostomosis, parascoriosis, toxocariasis.

Storage

1 g of the drug contains the active substance:

piperazine citrate – 450 mg;

Excipients: lactose.

Pharmacological properties

ATCvet QP52A, antitrematodic, antinematodic and antistestodic veterinary drugs (QP52AN, piperazine).

The active substance of the drug piperazine has a detrimental effect on larval and adult forms of nematodes, disrupting neuromuscular regulation and hyperpolarization of nerve cell membranes. This leads to muscle paralysis and helminth death. In the future, they are excreted from the body by peristaltic bowel movements. Quickly absorbed in the digestive tract. Excreted mainly in the urine within 24 hours. Low toxicity to animals and birds allows to feed the drug in a group method with food.

Piperazine drugs are low-toxic and do not cause side effects in therapeutic doses.

The drug is used in animals without diet and laxatives.

Application

Deworming of cattle (including calves), pigs, horses, rabbits, dogs, cats, birds (chickens, ducks, geese) for nematodes caused by nematodes:

• in cattle (including calves): Neoascaris sp .;
• у коней: Parascaris horses., Oxyuris equi
• in rabbits (including young animals): Passalurus ambiguus;
• in pigs: Ascaris suum, Oesophagostomum spp .;
• in carnivorous animals (dogs, cats, fur animals): Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala;
• in birds (chickens, ducks, geese): Ascaridia galli, Ganguleterakis dispar, Amidostomum anseris, Tetrameres fissispina.

Dosage

The drug is fed with food or watered with water (can be a group method) in the following doses:

• cattle, incl. calves – 7 g of the drug per 10 kg of body weight, once, not more than 160 g per animal;
• pigs – 7 g of the drug per 10 kg of body weight for 2 consecutive days in the morning feeding; repeat in 2 months;
• horses – 7 g of the drug per 10 kg of body weight, twice with an interval of 10 weeks, the maximum dose of the drug is: for adult animals – 80 g, for annuals – 60 g, for animals under one year – 30 g;
• carnivores (dogs, cats, fur-bearing animals) – 0.4 g of the drug per 1 kg of body weight, once;
• birds (chickens, ducks, geese) – 0.2 g per 1 kg of body weight, two days in a row.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to piperazine.

With impaired liver and kidney function, as well as with reduced motility of the gastrointestinal tract, the drug is prescribed with caution.

Reservation

Slaughter of animals for meat and consumption of milk for human consumption is allowed 2 days after the last use of the drug. Until then, meat and milk are fed to unproductive animals or disposed of, depending on the opinion of the veterinarian.
