Structure
Each gram of Equinor 370 mg / g, oral paste for horses contains:
Omeprazole: 370 mg
Iron oxide yellow (E172): 2 mg
Indications
Treatment of stomach ulcers and prevention of recurrence of stomach ulcers.
Contraindications
Do not use on mares producing milk for human consumption.
Not recommended for use in animals under 4 weeks of age or weighing less than 70 kg.
Omeprazole is not recommended for use in mares during pregnancy and lactation.
Adverse Reactions
No known clinical side effects associated with treatment.

Dosage
Stomach ulcer treatment:
28 days, 4 mg of omeprazole per kg of body weight (1 mark on the piston of the syringe / 50 kg of live weight),
followed by a daily regimen of 1 mg omeprazole per kg of body weight for 28 days to reduce the risk of recurrence of gastric ulcers after the end of treatment.
In case of relapse, it is recommended to take 4 mg of omeprazole per kg of body weight again.
A combination treatment is recommended, with appropriate changes in equine management and training.
Prevention of relapse of stomach ulcers:
One daily dose of 1 mg of omeprazole per kg of body weight.
Limitations:
Meat: 1 day.
Not permitted for use on mares producing milk for human consumption.
Warning
Before choosing a product, the veterinarian should consider the need for appropriate diagnostic tests. The occurrence of stomach ulcers can be related to stress (including intense training), feeding, housing and use of the animal.
