Pharmacological properties
Rectal suppositories “Zoohels” – a complex veterinary drug, the therapeutic effect of which is due to the pharmacological properties of the active substances that are included in its composition.
Benzocaine is a local anesthetic that reversibly and locally increases the threshold of perception and inhibits the conduction of nerve fibers, reduces pain sensitivity. The most pronounced effect is observed in the fibers of pain sensitivity and sympathetic postganglionic fibers. Benzocaine slows down the membrane penetration of Na + and K + ions, which reduces the sensitivity of the nerve fiber. The effect occurs within 1 minute after using the drug and lasts up to 20 minutes. After absorption, benzocaine is hydrolyzed in the blood under the action of esterases and cholinesterase to para-aminobenzoic acid and diethylaminoethanol. Approximately 80% of para-aminobenzoic acid in unchanged or conjugated form and 30% of diethylaminoethanol are excreted by the kidneys.
Sea buckthorn extract is a multivitamin component of plant origin, which contains flavonoids, carotenoids, tocopherols, vitamins (C, Pp B2, B6, folic and niacin), inositol, phospholipids, glycerides of linoleic, oleic, linolenic, palmitic, polyenic acids alkaloid serotonin, organic acids (tartaric, oxalic, malic, succinic), coumarins. It has a tonic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, analgesic effect, enhances granulation and epithelialization of tissues.
Xeroform is a substance that is not absorbed into the bloodstream, has an astringent and drying effect; reduces pain sensitivity of nerve endings, forming an albuminous film on the surface of tissues; constricts blood vessels, reduces their permeability and exudation at the site of inflammation.
Zinc oxide has an extremely low ability to penetrate into the blood. Zinc ions coagulate proteins, forming albuminates, have an astringent and drying effect.
Menthol is a herbal anesthetic. Getting on the mucous membranes irritates the nerve endings, which is accompanied by a feeling of cold and tingling, has analgesic and antiseptic properties.
