Floxy-spray max is a complex drug with antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antiallergic and antiexudative action, which is due to the influence of the active ingredients of the drug: the antibiotic fluorfenicol and glucorticoids prednisolone. Fluorfenicol is a thiamphenicol derivative in which the hydroxyl group is replaced by a fluorine atom, which causes its antibacterial activity against acetyltransferase-synthesizing bacteria sensitive to chloramphenicol. Fluorfenicol has a bacteriostatic effect on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, namely: Fusobacterium necrophorum, Bacteroides melaninogenicus, Streptococcus spp, Staphylococcus spp., Pasteurella spp., Salmonella spp., Proteus, Pseudomonas s. , Chlamydia. Fluorfenicol inhibits protein synthesis in bacterial cells. In the protoplasm, it binds to the 70S-fishosomal subunits, suppressing the enzymatic activity of peptidyl transfepharase, thus reducing the synthesis of proteins in the fishosomes of the corresponding bacteria.
Prednisolone is a synthetic glucocorticoid that acts anti-inflammatory, anti-allergenic and anti-exudative. The anti-inflammatory effect is due to the inhibition of the metabolism of arachidonic acid and the release of inflammatory mediators. When applied topically, prednisolone is absorbed, and the active substance enters the bloodstream. In plasma, 90% of prednisolone is bound (with transcortin and albumin). Biotransformed by oxidation, predominantly in the liver; oxidized forms are glucuronized or sulfated. It is excreted in the urine and feces in the form of metabolites, partially unchanged.
Dimethyl sulfoxide in the composition of excipients easily penetrates the skin and serves as a carrier to ensure skin absorption of the active ingredients of the drug. Has a local anesthetic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial (antiseptic) and fibrinolytic effect. It quickly and well penetrates biological membranes, incl. through the skin and mucous membranes, increases their permeability to other drugs. Changes the sensitivity of antibiotic-resistant microflora.
Indications for use
Dogs, cats: treatment of animals suffering from dermatitis of bacterial origin caused by microorganisms sensitive to fluorfenicol, panaritium, pyoderma, eczema, as well as traumatic and surgical wounds (including after castration), scratching, bites, bruises, ulcers and open abscesses …
Before applying the drug, the affected area is thoroughly cleaned of foreign bodies, exudate, necrotic tissue. While holding, shake the bottle with the drug at a distance of 5-10 cm from the surface of the damaged area of the body skin, press the piston of the sprayer 1-2 times and process the surface of 5×5 cm.
It is necessary to apply the drug every 12 hours until the wounds in animals are completely healed.
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Shake the bottle with the drug before use. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes of animals. In case of unwanted contact of the drug on the skin and mucous membranes, rinse with plenty of water. Before using the drug, hair should be cut off from damaged skin areas. Do not allow the animal to lick the drug for 5 minutes.
The drug, when used according to the recommendations of the tab sheet, does not accumulate in animal products. In case of forced slaughter of an animal, the treated areas must be removed.
