Vectra treatment for parasite control for cats 0.6 – 10 kg, 3 pipettes x 0.9 ml
Description:
A clear, pale yellow solution.
Structure:
0.9 ml of the preparation contains active ingredients:
- dinotefuran – 423 mg,
- pyriproxyfen – 42.3 mg.
Pharmacological properties:
ATCvet QP53, ectoparasiticides, insecticides and repellents.
Dinotefuran – a guanidine derivative, belongs to the neurotoxins of the neonicotinoid class, acts on the postsynaptic acetylcholine receptors of the nervous system, causing the death of ectoparasites.
Pyriproxyfen is an analogue of a juvenile hormone that regulates the growth and development of insects, including fleas. Its mechanism of action is to disrupt the normal cycle of insect metamorphosis.
When applied to the skin, the substances that make up the drug accumulate in the epidermis, hair follicles and sebaceous glands, which contributes to a long-term contact insectoacaricidal and repellent effect.
Application:
Treatment of cats affected by fleas (Siphonaptera spp.) At all stages of pest development (egg-larva-pupa-adult insect).
Vectra® Felis can be used in a comprehensive program for the treatment and prevention of allergic dermatitis (FAD).
Dosage:
Vectra® Felis is used externally by spot application on dry, intact skin in a place inaccessible for licking by an animal (between the shoulder blades).
One pipette is designed for administration to one animal in accordance with the recommended minimum dose of 42.3 mg dinotefuran / kg animal body weight and 4.23 mg pyriproxifen / kg animal body weight.
Mode of application:
1. Remove the pipette from the package.
2. Holding the cap up, hold the pipette with your fingers below the larger disc.
3. With the other hand, push down on the smaller disc until both discs are pressed in. This punctures the protective membrane.
4. Unroll the animal’s fur so that the skin is visible and apply the preparation by gently squeezing the pipette walls. The animal should be in a comfortable position to apply the drug. Avoid getting the drug on the animal’s hair.
One-time treatment of animals with Vectra® Felis prevents flea infestation for at least one month. Re-processing is recommended after 30 days. In case of severe flea infestation, on the recommendation of a veterinary doctor, the treatment can be repeated after 2 weeks.
Contraindications:
Do not use Vectra® Felis in kittens under the age of 7 weeks and weighing up to 0.6 kg, with individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
With caution, it is prescribed to weakened, sick and pregnant animals after consultation with a veterinary doctor.
Caveats:
Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Do not apply the drug to damp or damaged skin. It is not recommended to bathe animals within 48 hours after treatment with the drug.
If several cats are kept in the room, then they must be treated with the drug at the same time.
To prevent damage to animals by fleas, it is necessary to keep the places where animals stay clean and periodically (every two weeks in the warm season) treat them with insecticidal preparations (eg Neostomazan).
