Description
Vetmedin (Vetmedin) 1.25 mg. 50 tab. is a highly effective drug for the treatment of cardiovascular insufficiency in dogs. The active ingredient is Pimobendan. This drug is prescribed by a veterinarian and the dosage is set based on analyzes and the general condition of the animal. Applies to dogs only.

It is prescribed in case of heart failure in an animal, which is caused by insufficiency of valves or dilated cardiomyopathy (symptoms: shortness of breath, cough, decreased activity).

Contraindications: Vetmedin has a strong effect on the liver, therefore, it is prohibited to use animals with liver diseases. Forbidden for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Use with caution in pets with diabetes. It is necessary to constantly monitor the level of glucose in the blood.

Interaction with medicinal products: Vetmedin is allowed to be used in parallel with other medicinal products. This drug is often used with furosemide. If the animal has congenital cardiovascular insufficiency, Vetmedin is used throughout the life of the animal. It is necessary to monitor the consumption of the drug.

Dosage: the dosage of the drug Vetmedin is set by the doctor. The drug is used in two doses 1 hour before meals. For 1 kg. the body weight of the animal is applied from 0.2 to 0.6 mg. pimobendan. The recommended daily dosage is 0.5 mg per 1 kg of body weight, divided into 2 doses.
