The frequency of application of the drug is determined by the degree and nature of the course of the disease and is: 1 treatment every 3 – 5 days until the disappearance of clinical signs. On average, 3-4 such treatments are required.
Pharmacological properties
Zoomikol has a wide spectrum of fungicidal activity against pathogens of trichophytosis and microsporia of domestic animals. The drug exhibits antimycotic effect against representatives of the genera Trichophyton , Microsporum , Epidermophyton , Achorion , Candida and other pathogens of skin mycoses. The high efficacy of the drug is due to the presence in its composition of thiabendazole, which has the ability to inhibit the reproduction of pathogenic fungi by disrupting the division of cell nuclei and nitroxoline, which selectively blocks the synthesis of the parasite’s DNA. The combination of active substances from different pharmacological groups in one drug allows using it with a positive effect at any stage of the disease, shortening the treatment time, and reducing the risks of developing possible resistance to the drug. According to the degree of impact on the body of warm-blooded animals, Zoomycol belongs to low-hazard substances and, in recommended doses, does not have a local irritating, resorptive-toxic and sensitizing effect.

In very rare cases, with increased individual sensitivity to the drug, signs of skin irritation may appear.
