Structure:
Stresnil as an active ingredient in 1 ml contains: azaperone – 40 mg / ml,

as well as auxiliary substances: tartaric acid – 14 mg / ml, sodium metabisulfant

– 2 mg / ml, methyl parahydroxybenzoate – 0.5 mg / ml, propyl parahydroxybenzoate – 0.05 mg / ml.

Pharmacological properties:
Stresnil belongs to the group of neuroleptic drugs. Azaperone, which is a part of the drug, belongs to the group of butyrophenones, has a strong but short-term sedative effect, the anxiolytic effect is manifested through the effect on 5HT-rscspors (serotonin receptors). In recommended doses, azaperone blocks alpha-receptors, inhibits motor impulses, while sensory reactions (smell, taste) are preserved. Stresnil has a sedative effect, the degree of rest and the duration of action depend on the dose administered: when the drug is administered in low doses (0.5 mg / kg of body weight according to DV), the animal calms down, becomes controllable, when a higher dose is introduced (2 mg / kg weight according to DV) the animal falls asleep, the duration of sleep is 1-2 hours.
The effect of the drug in young animals is manifested in 15 minutes after administration, in adult animals – in 30 minutes.

When administered parenterally, Stresnil is well absorbed from the injection site, reaches a peak plasma concentration 1 hour after administration, is rapidly metabolized and excreted in feces and urine.

According to the degree of impact on the body, Stresnil belongs to moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).

Doses and method of administration:
Stresnil is used in pigs of various age groups for the prevention of stressful conditions caused by regrouping, transportation of animals, manifestations of intraspecific aggression, as well as during obstetrics and surgical operations. The use of the medicinal product in animals of other species is prohibited. The use of Stress in animals is contraindicated at ambient temperatures below 0 ° C due to the potential risk of cardiac arrest. Stresnil is used by intramuscular injection. The injection should be done with a long, thin needle as close to the back of the ear as possible, perpendicular to the skin.
After administration of the drug, animals should be left in a calm environment for 15-30 minutes.

Contraindications:
