The active substance of the drug is ivermectin, belongs to the chemical group of macrocyclic lactones. The pharmacological action of ivermectin consists in the blockade of nervous or neuromuscular transmission by affecting γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA), as a result of which the transmission of nerve impulses of ectoparasites and nematodes is disrupted, which leads to their paralysis and death. Adult fleas parasitizing on the body of animals, after treatment with the drug “Ivermicol” die after 2-3 days, the effect of the drug against fleas lasts up to 30 days. Application: Treatment and prevention of dogs and cats in case of infestation with ectoparasites: fleas (Ctenocephalides canis, Ct. Felis – siphonapterosis) lice (Linognathus seto t us – linognatosis) sarcoptic and demodicosis mites (Sarcoptes canis – sarcoptic, Notoedres cati – notoedrosis, Demodex canis, D. Gatoi, D. Felis – demodicosis). Dosage: The drug is used externally once. Apply to dry and intact skin: for medium and large breed dogs along the spine in 3-5 places, for cats and small breed dogs – in the neck area. The recommended minimum dose is 6 mg ivermectin/kg body weight.
