Description:

The homogeneous gel of light yellow color without a pronounced odor.

Storage :

1 ml of the drug contains active ingredients (mg):

pyrantel pamoate – 300.0;

praziquantel – 20.0.

Excipients: tylose, distilled water.

Pharmacological properties:

Pyrantel pamoate belongs to pyrimidine derivatives. It acts as relatively round helminths (sexually mature stages and larvae of the 4th stage of development), as a depolarizing muscle relaxant that causes neuromuscular blockade, paralyzes muscles, which leads to the death of nematodes.

Praziquantel is a quinoline derivative. Increases the penetration of cell membranes for calcium ions in cestodes and trematodes, which leads to muscle contraction, paralysis of helminths and their death, and also causes vacuolization and damage to the epithelium of parasites, which makes them sensitive to enzymes of the intestinal tract.

Application:

Deworming of one-hoofed animals (horses, ponies, asians, Przewalski’s horses) in case of damage by nematodes, cestodes, trematodes:

• nematodes of the alimentary canal of the families: Ascaridae, Strongylidae of the subfamilies Strongylinae and Cyatostominae (Trihonematinae), Strongyloididae, Oxyuridae, Spiruridae;
• cestodes of the family Anoplocephalidae;
• trematodes of the families Schistosomatidae, Dicrocoeliidae;
• larvae of gadflies Gasterophilus spp.

Dosage:

The therapeutic and prophylactic dose is 1 ml of the drug per 20 kg of body weight. The drug is administered using a syringe tube to the root of the tongue once. In case of invasions caused by the larvae of Trihostrongylus axei, the animals are injected with the drug twice at a daily interval.

Prophylactic deworming of adult horses is carried out once every 3-4 months.

For deworming wild animals, a certain dose of the drug is mixed with a moistened compound feed and fed in the morning individually or in a group way.

Contraindications:

Do not administer to clinically ill, malnourished animals.

Caveats:

Do not use in pregnant females during the last week of pregnancy.

Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed 7 days after the last use of the drug. The meat obtained by the specified date is disposed of or fed to unproductive animals, depending on the conclusion of a veterinary doctor.
