Stop pruritus suspension refers to combined anti-inflammatory drugs.
Triamcinolone, which is part of the drug, is a synthetic glucocorticoid, has a pronounced anti-inflammatory and desensitizing effect. Its mechanism of action is to block the release of inflammatory mediators by eosinophils, including prostaglandins, which potentiate the inflammatory process, stimulate the biosynthesis of lipocartins with anti-edematous activity, reduce the number of mast cells that produce hyaluronic acid, and reduce capillary permeability. B vitamins (PP, B6, B2), succinic acid and methionine improve metabolism, accelerate tissue regeneration, and help restore the functional state of the skin. Stop-itching suspension, according to the degree of exposure to the body, belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).
Stop-itching suspension is prescribed for dogs and cats for the treatment of inflammatory and allergic skin diseases (atopic dermatitis, eczema, diffuse neurodermatitis, scratching, alopecia, reactions to insect bites).
A contraindication to the use of Stop-Itching Suspension is the increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug (including a history), viral diseases and diabetes.
The first 4 days the drug is used in a therapeutic dose, the next 8 days – in a dose of ½ of the therapeutic dose. The course of treatment can be extended at the discretion of the attending veterinarian.
In case of an overdose in an animal, depression and vomiting are possible. 15. At the first use of the drug, in rare cases, the animal has a rapidly passing hypersalivation. 16. It is not recommended to use the drug for pregnant and lactating females, as well as puppies and kittens under 8 weeks of age. 17. Avoid skipping the next dose of the drug, as this can lead to a decrease in effectiveness. In case of missing one dose, the use of the drug is resumed in the same dosage and according to the same scheme. 18. When using the drug in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications in animals, as a rule, are not observed. In some animals with increased individual sensitivity, depression, salivation, and disorders of the gastrointestinal tract are possible. In these cases, the use of the drug is discontinued and, if necessary, symptomatic agents are prescribed. 19. Stop pruritus suspension is not recommended to be used concurrently with other medicinal products containing corticosteroid hormones. 20. Stop-Pruritus Suspension is not intended for use in productive animals.
