Composition of the medicinal product

Suspension for intracisternal administration of grayish-white color. 3.6 g (1 syringe) cloxacillin (in the form of benzathine acid salt) 600 mg Suspension is packaged in 3.6 g plastic syringes. Each syringe is labeled with the name, purpose and composition of the drug, manufacturer, waiting time, date of manufacture, batch and expiration date, storage conditions, and provided with temporary instructions for use.

Pharmacological properties

Antibiotic of the group of semisynthetic penicillins resistant to the action of penicillinase. Has a wide range of effects. Has a bactericidal effect. Active against gram-positive bacteria released from udder secretions during the dry period. Has high activity against Streptococcus agalactiae, other species of Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp. (Including penicillin-resistant strains), Corynebacterium pyogenes. Due to the combined action of the sparingly soluble benzathine salt of cloxacillin and a special long-acting base, the activity of the drug in dry cows lasts for at least 7 weeks. The drug does not irritate udder tissue.

Indications

Prevention and treatment of mastitis in cows during the dry period.

Doses method of administration

Orbenin EDC is injected once intracisternally into all quarters of the udder immediately after the end of the lactation period. Before the introduction of the drug, it is necessary to free the share of the udder from milk. The external nipple should be treated with a 70% ethyl alcohol solution or special disinfectant wipes. After that, the cannula of the syringe is completely inserted into the opening of the nipple and, carefully pressing the plunger, the contents are completely squeezed out. The contents of 1 syringe are injected into each quarter of the udder.

Contraindications

Lactation period. It is not allowed to use the drug less than 42 days before calving.

Side effect

When used according to indications in recommended doses, no side effects have been identified.

Storage conditions

Carefully. Store in a dry, dark place and out of reach of children and animals at a temperature of 3 to 15 ° C. Shelf life under the specified storage conditions is 2 years from the date of manufacture.
