Storage:

1 ml of the drug contains the active substance: amoxicillin trihydrate – 150 mg.

Excipients: tetraglycol, butylhydroxytoluene, propylene glycoloctanoadeconoate.

Pharmacological properties:

ATC vet classification code QJ01 – antibacterial veterinary drugs for systemic use. Amoxicillin belongs to a group of β-lactam antibiotics. It blocks the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, inhibits the enzymes transpeptidase and carboxypeptidase. It causes a violation of the osmotic balance, which leads to the death of microorganisms at the stage of development. The antibacterial effect of the drug is more effective during the period of intensive reproduction of bacteria.

After intramuscular administration, amoxicillin is well absorbed, reaching maximum serum concentrations after 2 hours and maintaining it for 18 hours.

It is known that in dairy cows after intramuscular administration of amoxicillin and ampicillin, the maximum concentration of amoxicillin was observed in the kidneys, and the lowest – in muscle tissue. High concentrations of the drug were observed in bile and urine. The concentration in the tissues of the intestinal wall, liver and kidneys is approximately 10-30% of the concentration in serum, and may be higher than in the skin, fat, spleen and muscles. The half-life is 1.5 hours.

Amoxicillin is excreted mainly in the urine, in small amounts in bile and milk.

Indications for use:

Treatment of animals with diseases of the digestive tract, respiratory and urogenital systems, skin and soft tissues, as well as to prevent postoperative infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to amoxicillin.

Contraindication:

Do not use in rabbits, hamsters, anteaters and other small herbivores, as well as animals sensitive to amoxicillin. Do not use in lactating cows whose milk is used in human nutrition.

Special precautions for use:

Shake the vial thoroughly before use. Do not inject intravenously. The drug is allowed to use pregnant and lactating animals.

Side effect:

The use of the drug can cause allergic reactions.

Interaction with other means and other forms of interaction:

Do not use concomitantly with chloramphenicol, tetracyclines and sulfonamides. There is a synergism between clavulanic acid and amoxicillin.

Dosage:

Intramuscularly in a dose: cattle and pigs – 0,5-1 ml of drug (7,5-15 mg of amoxicillin) on 10-15 kg of body weight once a day.

Subcutaneously or intramuscularly in a dose: dogs and cats – 0,25-0,5 ml of drug (7,5-15 mg of amoxicillin) on 5 kg of body weight once a day.

The course of treatment for cattle, dogs and cats is 3-5 days, for pigs – 3 days.

Withdrawal period (withdrawal period):

Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed 20 days after the last application of the drug. Depending on the conclusion of the veterinarian, before this time, the meat is fed to unproductive animals or disposed of.
