Storage:
100 ml of the drug contains the active substance:
sodium chloride – 0.9 g
Excipient: water for injections.
Pharmacological properties:
Sodium chloride solution of 0.9% has detoxifying and rehydration effects, maintains and regulates the osmotic pressure of blood plasma and extracellular fluid, replenishes sodium deficiency in various pathological conditions. Administered parenterally, it briefly increases the volume of circulating blood and has a moderate diuretic effect. When dehydrated, the drug replenishes fluid deficiency in the body and normalizes disturbed water-salt homeostasis.
Excreted by the kidneys.
Application:
Treatment of cattle, pigs, dogs with significant fluid loss; intoxications; burn disease; toxic dyspepsia; lowering blood pressure; shock; in the postoperative period; for washing wounds, mouth and nasal cavity, mucous membranes of the eye; as a solvent for dry medicines and biological products.
Dosage:
Inject intravenously, intramuscularly or subcutaneously in doses (per ml per animal):
cattle 500-3000;
pigs 10-150;
dogs 10-40.
Before administration, the drug is warmed to the body temperature of the animal.
Contraindication:
Hypernatremia, acidosis, hyperchloremia, hypokalemia, extracellular hyperhydration; intracellular dehydration; swelling of the brain, lungs and circulatory disorders that threaten the swelling of the brain and lungs. With caution – in renal and cardiovascular failure, oliguria, anuria.
Reservation:
Administration of large volumes of sodium chloride 0.9% solution can lead to the development of acidosis and hyperhydration, increase cerebral and pulmonary edema, increase potassium loss.
When administered subcutaneously at the injection site may be a small swelling, which disappears after 2-3 hours.
Intravenous injections of the drug in maximum doses are not desirable in circulatory disorders, the threat of pulmonary and cerebral edema, glomerulonephritis.
