Spirovet, 250ml – Ceva
Composition
The preparation is produced in the form of a sterile solution, packaged in 50, 100 and 250 ml in glass vials of appropriate capacity, placed in individual cardboard boxes. Spirovets an antibacterial drug in the form of a solution for injection, containing in 1.0 ml 600,000 IU of spiromycin as an active ingredient, and benisyl alcohol and water as auxiliary substances.
Pharmacological properties
Spiromycin is a part of spirovet, it is an antibiotica broad spectrum of action from the group of macrolides with bacteriostatic, and in high concentrations bactericidal activity against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, as well as mycoplasmas. The mechanism of its antibacterial activity is to suppress the synthesis of bacterial protein at the level of the SOS subunit of ribosomes. Spromycin inhibits the ability of bacterial cells (especially gram-positive cocci) to adhere to ethithelial cells and stimulates the phagocytic activity of polynuclear neutrophils. Spiramycin is highly lipophilic and, after intramuscular injection, easily penetrates into all body tissues, where it keeps its effect for up to 21 hours. The elimination of the antibiotic from the body occurs mainly by bile (about 80%), due to which it also has a bactericidal effect in the intestine.
Indications
Spirovet is used in the treatment of cattle and pigs with infectious diseases of the gastrointestinal and respiratory tract caused by microorganisms sensitive to spiromycin.
Doses and method of administration
Spirovet is administered once deeply, intramuscularly to cattle at a dose of 5 ml / 100 kg, to calves and pigs – at a dose of 5 ml / 40 kg. If necessary, the drug is re-administered after 24 hours. A slight painful swelling may occur at the injection site, therefore the maximum volume for injection at one site should not exceed 15 ml for cattle and 10 ml for calves and pigs.
Contraindications
Contraindications to the use of Spirovet according to this instruction have not been established, with the exception of the individual hypersensitivity of animals to antibiotics of the macrolide group.
