Description:

The ointment is white or off-white.

Ingredients :

1 g of cream contains active ingredients:

dexamethasone – 0.64 mg;
ciprofloxacin hydrochloride – 10 mg;
clotrimazole – 10mg.

Excipients: purified water, propylene glycol, vaseline oil, emulsifier, nipagard.

Pharmachologic effect:

Triosan ointment is a combined anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, antibacterial, antifungal drug, the pharmacological action of which is due to three active agents: ciprofloxacin, dexamethasone and clotrimazole.

Ciprofloxacin is a synthetic antibacterial drug of the fluoroquinolone group. In terms of the antibacterial spectrum of action, ciprofloxacin is basically similar to other fluoroquinolones: it inhibits the active enzyme gyrase, which takes part in the synthesis of microbial cell DNA, resulting in a rapid bactericidal effect, especially on microorganisms resistant to beta-lactam antibiotics, tetracyclines, macrolides, etc. aminoglycosides.
Ciprofloxacin is effective against gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms: E. coli, Salmonella spp., Campylobacter spp., Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp., Bordetella spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Klebsiella spp., Aurecus Staphylocopp. and also Mycoplasma spp.

Dexamethasone has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and antipruritic effects. It inhibits the accumulation of leukocytes, the release of lysosomal enzymes and anti-inflammatory mediators in the focus of inflammation, inhibits phagocytosis, reduces vascular tissue permeability, and prevents the formation of inflammatory edema.

Clotrimazole exhibits antifungal effect as a result of a violation of the synthesis of ergosterol, which is an integral part of the cell membrane of fungi. Active against: Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum canis, Candida albicans, Malassezia furtur.

Application:

For the treatment of horses, dogs, cats and fur animals with skin diseases of allergic, bacterial and fungal etiology.

Dosage:

Before applying the cream, the hair on the affected area is cut off. The cream is applied to the affected skin 2 times a day (morning and evening) in a thin layer, rubbing gently. The duration of treatment is determined by the elimination of the inflammatory process and negative data of bacterial and / or mycological analysis, cessation of itching.

When the clinical condition improves, the drug is used once a day.

The course of treatment is 2-4 weeks (no more). A break of at least 20 days is required between repeated courses.

Warning

Avoid contact with eyes and open wounds.
Do not allow animals to lick the drug.

Side effect:

With prolonged use, side effects are possible (suppression of the function of the adrenal cortex).

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to drug components.
