Description
Trocoxil 75 mg , 2 tablets – non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and prolonged- release analgesic for dogs with joint disease. Tablets for oral use. Release form Trocoxil is a triangular tablet, light brown in color, with a displaced dosage of mavacoxib on one side. The drug is packaged in blisters of 2 tablets, placed in cardboard boxes with instructions.
Ingredients
One tablet of Trocoxil 75 mg, as an active substance contains – mavacoxib 75 mg, excipients: sucrose, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, sodium lauryl sulfate, magnesium stearate, flavor – the taste of meat.
Pharmacological properties
Trocoxil is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects.
Mavacoxib – The active substance of Trocoxil – like other NSAIDs, acts as a non-selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase, preventing the transition of arachidonic acid to prostaglandins, which are involved in the development of the inflammatory process. The drug mainly affects COX-2, which is induced in response to the development of inflammation. As a result, the synthesis of inflammatory prostaglandins is blocked, which cause inflammation, swelling and pain. At therapeutic doses, mavacoxib has a much weaker effect on COX-1 and therefore does not affect the synthesis of protective prostaglandins. Thus, mavacoxib does not interfere with normal physiological processes in tissues, especially in the stomach, intestines, kidneys and platelets.

The order of application
Trocoxil is administered to dogs from 12 months of age, orally at a dose of 2 mg of mavacoxib per 1 kg of animal weight before or during meals. Side effects
