CardioVet Vet Expert, 90 tab. – drug for dogs with heart disease
CardioVet is a specially formulated vitamin supplement for dogs with cardiovascular problems, cardiomyopathy (including dilated cardiomyopathy) and endocardiosis (blood regurgitation in case of mitral valve insufficiency). The supplement maintains normal heart function and improves the condition of the animal.
Indications for use.
Treatment of congenital heart failure in dogs caused by mitral valve insufficiency or cardiomyopathy with enlargement of the heart, as an adjunct in conjunction with diuretics. To improve exercise tolerance and survival in dogs with congenital heart disease.
Properties of active ingredients:
L-carnitine is a quaternary amine composed of lysine and methionine. It releases energy by converting long-chain fatty acids. 95% of all carnitine in the body is located in the myocardium, therefore L-carnitine provides the heart with energy for its continuous work. The use of L-carnitine helps protect the myocardium from the harmful accumulation of fatty acids in the cells of the muscle tissue of the heart.
Taurine is one of the substances that is vital for healthy heart metabolism. It makes up 40% of free amino acids in the myocardium. It has antiarrhythmic properties, regulates the number of heart contractions (depending on the level of calcium ions), ensuring the safety of myocardial cells. Neutralizes free radicals. Taurine deficiency can lead to the development of dilated cardiomyopathy in dogs.
Coenzyme Q10 (Ubiquinone) – Vital for the body’s energy production process. It is a natural antioxidant needed to neutralize free radicals.
Selenium is an important part of the glutathione peroxidase enzyme involved in antioxidant processes. Its functions depend on vitamin E. The main function of selenium is to prevent the effects of oxidative stress, which is one of the key elements in the onset of dilated cardiomyopathy.
Vitamin E (in combination with selenium) is a powerful antioxidant that prevents cardiac endothelial cells from contracting excessively. Reduces the clumping of blood cells and prevents platelet buildup in the coronary arteries, making it easier for blood to flow through the vessels that supply the heart.
