Ketoline (10 ml) analog of ainyl. OLKAR
Structure:
1 ml of the drug contains the active ingredient: ketoprofen – 100 mg.
Pharmacological properties:
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug with analgesic effect
and antipyretic properties.
Pharmacodynamic action:
Ketoprofen belongs to the generation of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
based on propionic acid.
An inflammatory agent damages the cell and activates phospholipidases,
supplying arachidonic acid. It is the basis for cycloxygenase enzyme systems
and lipoxygenase, as a result of which substances are formed that provoke
inflammation – prostaglandins, thromboxanes and leukotrienes. Ketoprofen is dual
an inhibitor of inflammation, blocking the pathways of action of cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase and, thus
thus preventing the formation of prostaglandins and leukotrienes.
In addition, ketoprofen is a pain reliever that affects the central and
peripheral nervous system. Its action is to directly suppress
actions of bradykinin, a vasodilator and pain mediator. In addition to the action against bradykinin,
ketoprofen is active in the central nervous system, suppressing pain.
In horses, ketoprofen neutralizes the effect of endotoxins and counteracts intestinal
spasms caused by bradykinin.
Ketoprofen is rapidly absorbed. In cows, peak plasma levels (8.025 ± 1.9 μg / ml)
achieved in less than an hour after administration, and the bioavailability of the substance ends.
More than 98% binds to plasma proteins and accumulates in inflamed tissues.
Ketoprofen has a high affinity for synovial tissues, rapidly spreads
and is displayed. The duration of action of the drug is longer than expected, according to
with its half-life, which lasts from less than one hour (intravenous
horses), up to more than five hours (after intramuscular injection in cattle).
Significant concentrations of ketoprofen are found in synovial fluid and its level is here
higher than in plasma, and the half-life is 2-3 times higher than in plasma. Ketoprofen
metabolized by the liver to insignificant biologically active metabolites, and 90% is excreted
with urine in the form of glucuronide compounds.
Application:
Cattle: as anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic
an agent for the treatment of inflammatory processes caused by diseases of the respiratory system,
edema of the mammary glands, acute mastitis, inflammatory processes in the musculoskeletal system.
Horses: treatment of inflammatory and pain conditions in diseases of the musculoskeletal
apparatus (lameness of traumatic origin, arthritis, arthrosis, joint injuries (sprains,
synovitis), fractures, tendonitis, hoof lesions (pododermatitis, lameness), inflammation after
surgical interventions), symptomatic treatment of colic.
Pigs: anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic therapy for MMA syndrome,
treatment of inflammatory and pain conditions in diseases of the musculoskeletal system,
with respiratory infections.
Doses and method of administration:
Cattle: intravenously or intramuscularly 3 ml of the drug per 100 kg of body weight
(3 mg ketoprofen / kg) once a day for 1-3 days.
Horses: IV. For the treatment of damage to bones and joints, as well as musculoskeletal
device, inject 1 ml of the drug per 45 kg of body weight (2.2 mg of ketoprofen / kg) once a day in
within 3-5 days. For symptomatic treatment of colic, inject 1 ml of the drug per 45 kg of body weight
body (2.2 mg ketoprofen / kg) once.
Additional injections are carried out only after repeated clinical examination of the animal.
