Description
A clear solution of light yellow color.
Storage
1 ml of the drug contains active substances: fipronil – 70 mg, cyfluthrin – 3 mg, pyriproxyfen – 20 mg.
Excipients: ethyl acetate, polyethylene glycol-400.
Pharmacological properties
AcaroKILL refers to combined insecticidal veterinary drugs.
ATC vet QP53, ectoparasiticides, insecticides and repellents (QP53AX65, fipronil, combinations).
The drug has a pronounced activity against preimaginal and imaginary phases of flea development (Stenocephalides canis, Ctenocephalides felis), lice (Linognatus setotus), hair follicles (Trichodectes canis), sarcoptoids (Sarcoptes canis, Sarcoptes vulis and (Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Dermacentor reticulatus, Ixodes scapularis, Dermacentor variabilis) mites, as well as repellent action against two-winged insects, including blood-sucking flies (Stomoxys calcitrans), Gedz (Tabanidae C), mosquitoes .
Fipronil belongs to the group of phenylpyrosols, the mechanism of action of which is to block GABA-dependent arthropod receptors and disrupt neuromuscular transmission, leading to their paralysis and death.
Pyriproxyfen – an analogue of natural juvenile hormones, disrupting the synthesis of chitin and molting larvae, prevents the development of full-fledged pupae and causes the death of insects in the preimaginal stages of development, which leads to cessation of population replenishment at the stage of eggs and larvae. maintenance.
Cyfluthrin belongs to the group of synthetic pyrethroids, has a contact insecticidal action, blocking the transmission of nerve impulses and causing paralysis and death of arthropods, as well as long-term repellent action against mosquitoes, gnats, gnats and flies.
After application of the drug on the skin of the animal, its active components, practically not absorbed into the systemic bloodstream, accumulate in the epidermis, hair follicles and sebaceous glands, providing long-term contact insecticidal and repellent action. The duration of the protective effect of the drug against fleas, lice and hairflies is 6-8 weeks, against Ixodes mites and two-winged insects – 3-4 weeks.
AcaroKILL according to the degree of impact on the body refers to moderately dangerous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in the recommended doses does not have skin-irritating, resorptive-toxic and sensitizing effects. Causes slight irritation to the eyes. The drug is toxic to bees, as well as fish and other aquatic organisms.
Application
AcaroKILL is used in dogs from 10 weeks of age to treat and prevent entomoses caused by fleas, lice and hairflies; acarosis caused by sarcoptoid and Ixodes mites, as well as to protect animals from attack by blood-sucking two-winged insects.
Dosage
AkaroKILL is applied to animals by drip on dry intact skin in places inaccessible to licking (back area between the shoulder blades or neck area at the base of the skull), in the doses listed in the table:
Species and weight of the animal | Dose of the drug, ml per animal |
Dogs and puppies from 2 to 10 kg | 1 ml |
Dogs and puppies from 10 to 20 kg | 2 ml |
Dogs and puppies from 20 to 40 kg | 4 ml |
Dogs weighing more than 40 kg | 5.5 ml |
Before use on a tube-pipette unscrew a protective cap and, holding it vertically upwards a nose, cut off a tip of a nose (about 1 mm). Spreading the hair on the body of the animal, apply the drug to the skin in places inaccessible to lick (between the shoulder blades on the withers and along the back), at 2-5 points (depending on the body weight of the animal). To prevent leakage of the solution to one point, do not press hard on the pipette tube when applying!
Duration of protective action is: from ticks – 1 month; from insects in dogs – 3 months and in cats – 2 months. Repeat the procedure should be performed no more than once a month. In order to prevent re-invasion, the litter for the animal should be replaced or treated with an approved insecticide-acaricide according to the leaflet-tab. Do not apply the product on damp and / or damaged skin, as well as bathe and wash the animal for 48 hours after treatment.
The effect of the drug is manifested in 12-24 hours, in view of this, the treatment should be carried out no later than 24 hours before the expected grazing of the animal in places of possible stay of ectoparasites (parks, squares, forests).
To destroy Ixodes mites on the body of the animal, the drug in the amount of 1-2 drops is applied to the mite and the place of its attachment to the skin. If within 20-30 minutes the tick does not involuntarily disappear, it is carefully removed from the body and destroyed.
Repeated treatments to prevent the attack of insects and ticks and the prevention of blood-borne parasitic diseases (babesiosis, ehrlichiosis, borreliosis) are carried out according to the indications throughout the season of parasite activity, but not more than once a month.
For the treatment of otodectosis (scabies) the drug is used once in each ear 2-3 drops (drops must be injected into both ears). For uniform distribution of the drug, the auricle is folded in half and lightly massaged at the base. The remainder of the drug from the pipette used (based on the weight of the animal) is applied to the skin between the shoulder blades. During treatment, it is recommended to clean the ear canal from exudate and scabs, and in case of complications of otitis, prescribe antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory drugs. If necessary, after 10-12 days the treatment is repeated under the control of scraping microscopy.
In psoroptosis, sarcoptosis and notohedrosis, the drug is used 2-3 times with an interval of 10-12 days before the clinical recovery of the animal, which is confirmed by two negative results of microscopic examination of scrapings from the affected areas of the skin. In sarcoptoidosis complicated by infection of bacterial or fungal etiology, the use of immunomodulatory, antibacterial or antifungal agents is recommended.
