DANGER ON THE STREET
Despite the fact that in the modern world the cat often lives at home, many cats still go for a walk outside or in the warm season they live outside the city, for example, in the country. On the street, a cat can be trapped by uninvited guests – ticks.
A PETS MAY ALSO BE AT RISK
Even if the cat constantly lives at home, fleas can get on it from an already infected animal (dog or cat) that is on the street, living in the entrance, as well as from rodents living in basements. Ticks can get on a domestic cat from human clothing or from dogs.
BRAVEKTO is used in cats as a prophylaxis against infection with ixodid ticks every 12 weeks.
The action of BRAVEKTO against fleas develops within 12 hours, against ticks within 48 hours and lasts for up to 12 weeks.
BRAVEKTO acts on fleas prior to oviposition.
BRAVEKTO can be used as a drug for the treatment of otodectosis in cats.
Fluralaner, a component of BRAVEKTO chewable tablets, is now available as a drop on the withers for cats. Fluralaner blocks two separate biochemical pathways in the membrane of parasite nerve cells: the gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptor and the glutamate receptor.
PHARMAKINETICS
The fluralaner molecule is absorbed at the site of external application, after which it is distributed throughout the cat’s body. The absorption characteristics provide the maximum plasma concentration in the period from the 3rd to the 21st day after the application of the drug. A low rate of elimination from plasma (T1 / 2 = 12 days) in combination with a high degree of binding to plasma proteins promotes a stable systemic effect. These properties provide fluralaner concentration for up to 12 weeks after topical application. Fluralaner is excreted mainly through the digestive tract.
The BRAVEKTO spot-on drip applicator is equipped with an easy-to-use lid. The pipette is opened by turning the cap.
ATTENTION! The cap remains on the applicator and cannot be removed.
Application scheme:
1 Immediately before use, open the bag and remove the pipette. When opening the pipette, it is necessary to hold the base or the upper rigid part under the cap in an upright position (cap up).
2 Turn the cap clockwise or counterclockwise one full turn.
3 After the inner sealed membrane has ruptured, the pipette is open and ready for use.
4 The cap cannot be removed.
5 For ease and convenience of application, the cat should be standing or lying so that the back is in a horizontal position. Gently squeeze the dropper and apply all of its contents directly to the cat’s skin.

The drug is stored in a place protected from direct sunlight, at a temperature from + 2 ° C to + 30 ° C. Do not freeze.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Fluralaner, which is part of the drug, is an acaricide and an insecticide. It is effective against ixodid ticks (Ixodes ricinus Ixodes scapularis, Ixodes hexagonus, spp., Dermacentor reticulatus spp., Haemaphysalis elliptica and Rhipicephalus sanguineu), Sarcoptes spp., Otodeclox spp.
Fluralaner is a potent inhibitor of certain parts of the arthropod nervous system, acting antagonistically on voltage-independent chlorine ion transport channels (GABA receptor and glutamate receptor).
After topical application, fluralaner is rapidly absorbed into the coat, skin and adjacent tissues, from where it slowly enters the vascular system. The plateau level is reached in plasma 7-63 days after application, after which the concentration decreases slowly. Fluralaner is well distributed in tissues and reaches high concentrations in adipose tissue, liver, muscle and kidney. Long-term storage and slow elimination from plasma and the absence of intensive metabolism provide effective concentrations of fluralaner during the time interval between drug applications. Fluralaner is excreted unchanged in feces and, to a very small extent, in urine.
ORDER OF APPLICATION OF THE PREPARATION
BRAVEKTO Spot It is used in cats for the treatment and prevention of tick and flea infestations, as well as for the treatment of otodectosis caused by Otodectes spp. In cats. It can be used as part of a comprehensive treatment for allergic dermatitis caused by fleas. The preventive effect of flea and tick infestation in cats and dogs lasts for 12 weeks.
The effect after application of the drug develops within 12 hours (from fleas) and 48 hours (from ticks) for cats.
Open one sachet immediately before use and remove the pipette. To open, hold the pipette at the base or by the top below the cap in an upright position (tip up). The twist-off cap is turned in the direction or counterclockwise one full turn. The cap remains on the pipette – it cannot be removed completely. The pipette is open and ready for use when a click is felt from the seal break.
