Description

Bravecto Spot-On (fluralaner) for dog weight 4,5-10 kg 1 kg pipette

The drug is a new form of protection against fleas and ticks in dogs. The protective effect occurs within 4 hours after application and causes the death of fleas 8 hours after their appearance on the dog’s body, the death of ticks occurs after 12 hours and prevents re-infection of dogs with ectoparasites.

Bravecto is an excellent drug for the treatment and prevention of aphanipterosis, in the complex therapy of allergic dermatitis caused by fleas, as well as acarosis caused by ixodid ticks.

The new Bravecto Spot-On protects your pet against fleas and ticks for up to 12 weeks with just one dose.

Pharmacological properties
Bravecto Spot-On belongs to insectoacaricidal drugs of systemic action. The active ingredient fluralaner, which is an isoxazoline group insectoacaricide, is active against fleas (Ctenocephalides felis and Ctenocephalides canis) and ixodid ticks (adults and larvae of Ixodes ricinus, Ixodeshexagonus, ) parasitizing dogs.

The mechanism of action of fluralaner consists in blocking GABA-dependent and glutamate-dependent receptors in arthropods, hyperexcitation of neurons, impaired transmission of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of ectoparasites.

Bravecto Spot-On effectively destroys adult fleas, and is also used to treat and prevent infestation by fleas (Ctenocephalides felis), to treat and control infestation by ticks (Ixodes scapularis, Dermacentor variabilis, Rhipicephalus sanguineus) for 12 weeks. It is also effective in treating and controlling infestation of Amblyomma americanum ticks for 8 weeks.

According to the degree of impact on the body, Bravecto belongs to “low-hazard” substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in recommended doses does not cause impairment of embryonic development, and also does not have mutagenic effects.

Indications
The drug is prescribed to dogs for the treatment and prevention of aphanipterosis, in the complex therapy of allergic dermatitis caused by fleas, as well as acarosis caused by ixodid ticks.

Mode of application
The product is applied once by drip application (“spot on”) on dry intact skin. To do this, you need to take the pipette out of the package and hold it vertically. Then turn the tightly closed pipette cap clockwise or counterclockwise one full turn. The cap under the lid must remain intact for proper application of the drug. When opening the pipette, a click should be heard, which means that the package is open. Then you need to remove the cover and you can apply the drug. To do this, it is necessary to push the animal’s fur between the shoulder blades at the base of the neck so that the skin is visible and, pressing the pipette, apply the solution to the skin in places inaccessible for licking (in the neck area, at the base of the skull or between the shoulder blades). The drug should be administered topically as a single dose every 12 weeks.

To destroy ixodid ticks, 1 drop of the agent is applied to the tick and the place of its attachment to the skin. If the tick does not fall off within 20 minutes, it is carefully pulled out of the skin with tweezers and destroyed.

The peculiarities of the action of the drug during the first use or when it is canceled have not been identified. It is important not to violate the regimen of the drug, as this can lead to a decrease in its effectiveness.

In order to avoid a decrease in the effectiveness of the drug, bathing or any immersion in water is possible only 3 days after the administration of the drug.

Side effects
Side effects and complications when using Bravecto, as a rule, are not observed. In rare cases, vomiting, diarrhea, decreased appetite and drooling are possible. If the dog vomits within the first two hours after taking Bravecto, you must make sure that the vomiting has stopped and give the drug again in the same dose.
