Maxidin injection 0.4%, 5 ml

Composition and form of release

Maxidine 0.4 contains 0.4% aqueous solution of germanium bis (pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylate) (abbreviated BPDG), as well as auxiliary components: monoethanolamine and sodium chloride. The drug in appearance is a clear, colorless sterile solution for injection. They produce Maxidin 0.4 packaged in 5 ml each in glass bottles, which are put into cardboard boxes by 5 pieces.

Pharmacological properties

Maxidin 0.4 has a pronounced immunomodulatory and interferon-inducing activity, has a stimulating effect on humoral and cellular immunity.

The drug is an inducer of interferons, blocks the translation of viral proteins and stimulates the natural resistance of animals, increases the activity of macrophages, T and B-lymphocytes – effector cells of the immune system.

Indications

Assigned to dogs and cats for the correction of immunodeficiency states in viral infections, including coronavirus enteritis, panleukopenia, plague of carnivores, calicivirus, infectious rhinotracheitis.

Complex treatment of immune-mediated parasitic diseases (helminthiasis and demodicosis). For the treatment of skin diseases and hair loss (hair loss).

Doses and method of administration

Maxidin 0.4 is administered to animals subcutaneously or intramuscularly in compliance with the rules of asepsis and antiseptics 2 times a day for 2-5 days at a dose of 0.5 ml of the drug per 5 kg of animal weight.

Maxidine 0.4 can be used simultaneously with other drugs and feed additives.

Side effects

With proper use and dosage, side effects are usually not observed.

Contraindications

Increased individual sensitivity to the components of Maxidin 0.4.

special instructions

The drug should not be used in the presence of mechanical impurities in the vial, violation of integrity, with a change in color and turbidity of the solution, with an expired shelf life.

Such vials must be discarded with subsequent disposal.

Storage conditions

Store in a dry, dark place and out of reach of children and animals in the manufacturer’s packaging separately from food and feed at temperatures from 4 ºС to 25 ºС.

Shelf life is  2 years.
