Description
Ointment from light yellow to yellow-brown color.

Composition
1 g of the drug contains active ingredient:

oxytetracycline hydrochloride …… 10 mg.

Excipients: anthracin-55, lanolin, petroleum jelly.

Pharmacological properties
The ointment has pronounced bacteriostatic properties, which are due to the action of oxytetracycline, an antibiotic of a wide spectrum of antimicrobial action, active against most gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Escherichia coli, Pasteurella spp., Salmonella spp. And others), as well as Rickettsia spp. some species of Chlamydia spp. and Mycoplasma spp., is inactive against Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Oxytetracycline enters the cells of microorganisms due to diffusion and partly by active transport. The action of oxytetracycline is due to a violation of protein synthesis due to blockade of ribosome function in microorganisms sensitive to the drug.

Application
Treatment of cattle, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs, cats and rabbits, patients with conjunctivitis, keratitis, corneal ulcers and other eye diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to oxytetracillin.

Dosage
