COMPOSITION AND FORM OF ISSUE
Stop-Intim tablets are available in two dosages:
– For cats and cats (megestrol acetate – 5 mg / tab., Auxiliary components),
– For bitches and males (megestrol acetate – 20 mg / tab., Auxiliary components).
The drug is available in plastic cans with a tamper evident lid, 15 tablets in a cardboard box with instructions for use.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Megestrol acetate, which is part of the drug, is a synthetic derivative of the hormone progestogen and has the property of inhibiting the secretion of luteinizing (LH) and follicle-stimulating (FSH) hormones, which are produced by the anterior pituitary gland. When using the drug before the onset of estrus (estrus), the synthesis of estrogen by the ovarian follicles is inhibited, which prevents the development of morphological and psychophysiological changes in females associated with the sexual cycle, with an insufficient amount of LH, the ovulation process becomes impossible.
When the drug is applied to females, estrus is interrupted on days 2 or 3 from the onset of estrus. In males, megestrol acetate lowers the level of testosterone in the blood and has an indirect effect on the regulation of sexual behavior and associated behavioral responses, reducing aggression, anxiety and increased excitability in the animal.
Megestrol acetate is easily adsorbed in the intestine, biotransformed in the liver and excreted from the body in the form of salts in the urine within 1-2 days.
According to the degree of impact on the body, Stop-Intim tablets are classified as low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in recommended doses they do not have hepatotoxic, mutagenic and sensitizing effects.
INDICATIONS FOR USE
Stop-Intim tablets are prescribed for the regulation of sexual activity in cats and dogs, including for delaying and interrupting estrus in female cats and bitches, reducing sexual activity and correcting behavior in cats and dogs.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
A contraindication to the use of Stop-Intim tablets is an increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug (including a history), diseases of the genitourinary system, tumors and diabetes. You should not use the drug in immature animals, pregnant and lactating females.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Stop-Intim tablets are applied once a day individually, by force orally to the root of the tongue or with a small amount of treats 1-2 hours before feeding, taking into account the indications and sex of the animal.
The dose of the drug depends on the species, sex, weight of the animal and the purpose of use.
FEMALES:
For cats, the drug is used:
– in order to delay estrus – in the period between estrus, once a week at a dose of ½ tablet or once every two weeks at a dose of 1 tablet.
The course of application is no more than 18 months. A repetition of the course is possible after the cat has a normal physiological cycle.
– in order to interrupt estrus for cats, the drug is used when its first signs appear (but not later than 3 days from its onset) at a dose of 1 tablet (5 mg by DV) per animal per day 5-7 times with an interval of 24 hours (until disappearance signs of estrus plus one day).
For bitches, the drug is used:
– for the purpose of delaying estrus 7-15 days before its onset in a dose of 1 tablet (20 mg in DV) per 20 kg of animal weight, daily, but not more than 32 days in a row. During the year, you should not carry out more than two courses of the drug.
– in order to interrupt estrus in bitches, the drug is used when its first signs appear (but no later than 3 days after the onset of estrus) at a dose of 1 (20 mg by DV) tablet per 10 kg of animal weight.
The first 3 days the bitches are given a daily dose of the drug, the next 7 days – ½ the daily dose. During the year, it is recommended to carry out no more than two courses of the drug.
MALE:
For cats, to reduce sexual arousal and correct behavior, the drug is used in a dose of 1 tablet (5 mg for DV) per animal.
The first 7 days the drug is given daily in a daily dose, the next 14 days – ½ the daily dose.
For males, to reduce sexual arousal and correct behavior, the drug is used in a dose of 1 tablet (20 mg for DV) per 10 kg of animal weight.
The first 7 days, males are given a daily dose of the drug, the next 14 days – ½ the daily dose.
SIDE EFFECTS
When using the drug in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications in animals, as a rule, are not observed. In some animals, with increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug or with its prolonged use, profuse salivation, skin irritation, vomiting, changes in appetite, behavioral reactions and an increase in the mammary gland are possible. In these cases, the use of the drug should be discontinued and, if necessary, symptomatic agents should be prescribed.
OVERDOSE
Overdose symptoms in animals have not been identified.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Avoid skipping the next dose of the drug, as this can lead to a decrease in its effectiveness. In case of missing one dose, the use of the drug is resumed in the same dosage and according to the same scheme.
INTERACTION WITH OTHER DRUGS
Stop-Intim tablets are compatible with other drugs, feed and feed additives. Long-term joint use of Stop-Intim tablets with corticosteroids is not recommended.
STORAGE CONDITIONS
In sealed manufacturer’s packaging, separately from food and feed, in a dry, dark place, at a temperature of 2 ° C to 25 ° C. The medicinal product should be stored out of the reach of children and animals.
SHELF LIFE
The shelf life of the medicinal product in a sealed package, subject to storage conditions, is 2 years from the date of manufacture.
