Composition:
100 g of the drug contains the active ingredient: metronidazole – 25 g.
Pharmacological properties:
Metronidazole is a synthetic antimicrobial and antiprotozoal agent derived from 5-nitroimidazole. It reveals a bactericidal effect against those microorganisms whose enzyme systems are capable of reducing nitro groups. Metronidazole disrupts DNA replication and protein synthesis in a microbial cell, inhibiting tissue respiration. It easily penetrates the cell of sensitive microorganisms and, by binding to DNA, disrupts the replication process.
Effective against Trichomonas vaginalis, Gardnerella vaginalis, Giardia intestinalis, Entamoeba histolytica, Balantidіum coli, Lamblia spp., As well as obligate anaerobes Bacteroides spp., Helicobacter pylori, Fusobacterium spp., Veillonela spp., Veillonela spp., Veillonela spp., Veillonela spp., Veillonela spp., Veillonela spp., Veillonela spp. ., Peptostreptococcus spp.
Application:
Treatment of cats, dogs, minks suffering from diarrhea, ulcerative gingivitis, giardiasis, amebiasis, heardiosis, trichomoniasis, anaerobic infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to metronidazole.
Dosage:
Orally at a dose of 40 mg of the drug (10 mg of active ingredient) per 1 kg of animal body weight twice a day. The course of treatment is 10-20 days.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to metronidazole. Do not use in animals with central nervous system damage and in the first third of pregnancy, lactation. Do not use in puppies and kittens.
Warning:
Possible side effects from the digestive system: nausea, vomiting, lack of appetite, constipation and diarrhea. From the side of the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system: increased excitability, sleep disturbance, depression, peripheral neuropathy, convulsions, hearing loss, disorientation, loss of consciousness. From the side of the hematopoietic system: transient leukopenia and thrombocytopenia. Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching, urticaria.
