Composition and form of release

Sinulox 500 mg tablets are round pink tablets with a dividing groove on one side and the inscription “Sinulox” on the other side. Each tablet contains 400 mg of amoxicillin in the form of amoxicillin trihydrate and 100 mg of clavulanic acid in the form of sodium clavulanate. Sinulox tablets 500 mg are produced packaged in blisters of 2 pieces, which are placed in cardboard boxes of 5 pieces.

Pharmacological properties

Amoxicillin is a semisynthetic broad-spectrum penicillin that has a rapid bactericidal effect on many gram-positive (Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Corynebacterium spp.) And gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Proteteus spp.) including b-lactamase-producing strains. Resistance to b-lactam antibacterial drugs is usually due to the ability of microorganisms to produce b-lactamase, an enzyme that destroys the b-lactam ring of an antibiotic before it can act on a bacterial cell. Clavulanic acid, which is part of sinulox, inactivates b-lactamase and thereby restores the sensitivity of the bacteria to the bactericidal action of amoxicillin in concentrations

Indications

Prescribed to dogs and cats for the treatment of infections of bacterial etiology: diseases of the skin and soft tissues (abscesses, pyoderma, inflammation of the paranal glands, gingivitis, stomatitis, etc.), respiratory diseases, diseases of the genitourinary system and enteritis.

Doses and method of administration

Sinulox tablets 500 mg are administered to sick animals from the hand or in crushed form mixed with feed at a dose of 12.5 mg per 1 kg of animal weight twice a day:

• with an animal weighing 19-25 kg – 0.5 tablets of Sinulox 500 mg,
• with an animal weighing 26-35 kg – 0.75 tablets of Sinulox 500 mg,
• with an animal weighing 36-50 kg – 1 tablet of Sinulox 500 mg,
• with an animal weighing over 50 kg – 1.5 tablets of Sinulox 500 mg)

The duration of the course of treatment with Sinulox is 5-7 days. If the disease is difficult to treat, especially with respiratory infections, the dose of Sinulox can be doubled (up to 25 mg per 1 kg of animal weight) twice a day. In the case of chronic or intractable diseases, often accompanied by significant tissue damage, a longer course of Sinulox therapy is recommended: the duration of treatment for chronic skin diseases and chronic cystitis is 10-28 days, for respiratory diseases – 8-10 days.

Side effects

Allergic reactions are possible in hypersensitive animals. With proper use and dosage, side effects are not observed.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Sinulox, like other antibiotics of the penicillin series, is not allowed to be prescribed to rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and gerbils. The drug should be used with great caution in other small herbivores.

The medicinal product is not intended for use in productive animals.

special instructions

No special precautions are taken. The use of the drug is not indicated for pseudomonous infection. Sinulox 500 mg tablets can be used as an alternative to injectable antibiotics in the treatment of small animals.

Storage conditions

Store in a dry place, out of reach of children, at temperatures from 0 ºС to 25 ºС.

Shelf life is 2 years.
